Next Assassin's Creed Location

16 posts in this topic

The next Assassin's Creed is probably coming soon, so let's talk about where the next game is going to be. I personally would like to see Assassin's Creed in Japan. Instead of the white hood nonsense, how about we wear something stealthy, like ninja stuff. Plus the ninjas had some kill weapons; like those eggs with broken glass (I think there was also some sort of sauce or powder, I'm not sure, let me know if there was.) and the ninja stars and all that. So I think Japan would be a nice place for the next game.

So tell me what location you would like to see next in an Assassin's Creed game.

Historical fact: Ninjas never wore the stereotypical black robes. I don't think that the AC games, if set in feudal Japan, would utilize that stereotype. They do stick somewhat to historical facts, at least regarding wardrobes, then just fancy them up.

True, weapons wise, feudal Japan would be amazing. Lots of potential for interesting weapons, and utilizing them.

The Viking Age. Philosophically it would be very interesting to see the Assassin's way of life against the backdrop of both Viking societies, and the Saxon societies. To me at least, there's a lot of potential here for an actual, Good AC story, something the series has been lacking for a while now.

And the period retains the option for naval combat, open battlefields and all that, so there'd be no shortage of excitement and action.

Ancient Egypt. There is some fascinating fan art showing Assassin's in the Assassin's Creed universe if it was set in Ancient Egypt and the Egpytian themselves had some unique weapons.

the Viking age sounds really good. I would like to maybe see a assassins creed set in world war 2. but I would really like to see a modern day
assassins creed set in New York. just imaging clamming though buildings our alleyways to escape from the cops.

I don't care where it is, as long as it has accurate historical events in it.

I'd like to see a Victorian London setting (and it could have Edward in it again if so.) Egypt would be cool, or even a wild west assassin's creed. (gun gameplay could ruin the feel though)

I do admit, an Assassin's Creed during the Napoleonic Wars would get me interested a bit more in the franchise. (Except if they don't make it a little more difficult. Seriously, just countering gets really repetitive.)

i think they broke gound with introducing the story of slavery i'd like to see them follow that blood line and bring us to the American civil war.

Seems to be around 1793-94 with either the beginning being the beheading of King Lous XVI or Robespierre and the Jacobin Club's terror is the order of the day. Either way, I am finally excited for an Ass Creed for once. Even if it skips the September Massacres, it should be a really bloody good time.

This will probably be the first major AC release that I won't buy, unless they genuinely innovate, and include a good story. And I'm a big AC fan, I have more AC merchandise and gear than any other franchise, but the way AC IV turned out just left me so disappointed.

Honestly, if you took out the Pirate stuff from AC IV, It would almost qualify as a bad game, and one of the worst If not the worst of the series for me.

That's probably why they're going to France. At this time, the clergy were forced to an oath to France and give up their connections with the Vatican or be imprisoned (and usually executed), so there is definitely a good premise for the usually lackluster templar vs assassins story there. There shouldn't be any naval battles, but France was at war with half of Europe at the time and losing badly in 1793 (1794 is when they crushed the rebels like the Vendee and pushed the Prussians and Austrians out of France). There are many parallels to this society with the Soviet Union, so secrecy, assassinations, etc could be really cool, if done right.

Gameplay-wise I enjoyed AC IV a lot, I also enjoyed and loved the map setting, but the story was a little crappy. It wasn't bad, but it could of been better...it just didn't feel like AC to me. I didn't feel like I was playing a AC storyline.

I'm not sure what to think of the current setting, not a huge fan of French Revolution and it's one of the more boring parts of history for me...it gave me a pain in the ass in school when I was forced to learn all that stuff lol

I just hope they make the gameplay good and even better, make the story like like AC 1 and AC 2 and I will be one happy guy.

Same could be said for AC IV. There was a ton of potential there, but in the end It was all squandered.

That would be a poor decision. The naval aspect of AC III and IV were one of the few things people generally praised about them, removing them now would be a massive step back for the franchise. They just need to bring It closer to what It was in AC III.

I have little doubt that we will see some naval battles, as Ubisoft likes to reuse assets considering this series has a yearly release cycle. It will likely not be to the degree of Black Flag, though. I'm betting it will be more of a side factor, purely to please the fans. I, for one, am okay with that.
