I am really interested, been a huge fan of freespace and wing commander in the past. And the fact it has occulus rift support is going to make it really fun :D

Exploration is goning to be my thing, salvaging and mining my secondary intrests and a bit of dog fighting if my hand is needed. So far i only own a 315p but i will add more ships to my hangar.

Most excellent. As Kylara Vatta would say: "Trade and profit, nothing more".

Totally into trading and thus creating profit (go figure, eh?). Exploring/co-op with the Angry Army is something I'd love to do as well.

Hey yall, I'm super stoked about the angry army being in Star Citizen. Right now I feel like I'd want to be like a mercenary or protection for trade ships, but who knows.

I'm pretty geared up for the Dogfighting module. Definitely want a piece of AJSA action in the 'verse!

I remember for Star Wars The Old Republic (I was really excited for it) this one clan was out like a year before release. At that time it reached 100 members and it was rushing. However 6 months before release the leader became too stressed and he dropped the clan. That's the problem with rushing, it ain't right. Then I joined a more internal clan that really only opened up like a few weeks before release. It was amazing and they remained strong until the massive collapse of that game. They might still be around, but man we tore it up at launch.

With regards to the corporation and who gets dips on what gear when you board ships,  I have had an idea  which is used amongst guilds in MMOs a lot is a raid points system.

Everyone who helps capture and raid a ship will get points for attending. And any loot gathered will be held in a corp bank or something of the sort. And people can then spend these points on high value items.

This will be beneficial for players who cant put much time in the week but always attend the raids. So everyone has a chance of getting some high value stuff. After all an army is only as strong as its weakest member. So give everyone equal opportunity for the good stuff. :)

I can see how this is beneficial, but it would only work for large scale operations. You still have the issue about people raiding ships outside of operations. There are going to be a lot of people playing this when most of the clan is away at work or sleeping, these people will have to be accounted for in the system as well. And if the point system is applied then those people will end up getting a substantially higher amount of points than those who just log in for operations.

These "off-hour" raids can and probably will be occurring a lot. The corporation has almost 150 small fighters and about 50 Constellations, which means you could have these raiding parties of 3 fighters escorting a Constellation. That's 7 people for a small raiding party (if you fully crew the Constellation), send in the fighters first to disable the ship and the Constellation follows and boards it (if it's a big one). Either way we could end up having massive salvage opportunities outside of operations even with small groups of people.

Off course this is just an example, personally I would prefer to use my Constellation for either exploring or cargo hauling. And then you have the issue of adding additional fighter escort for more valuable cargo. There's a lot of logistics to consider, so figuring out a system is gonna be mostly on a trial and error basis.

I'm a member of AJSA in star citizen. It means im part of this ranking and stuff right?

I currently got a hornet, but thinking about getting freelancer as well, so can i be part of both exploring and fighting squads at the same time?

The way it's currently looking, you'd join the squad whose job you'd be more inclined towards. Then you'd be free to do whatever, but in big fights or large events we'd expect you to fill your primary role to make planning easier.

I imagine from a laid back but passionate community such as this, that it shouldn't be a problem, although depending on what your good at as well as our supply and demand.

I plan on running an elite wing but I have a feeling I'll just be hauling cargo for a good while until I am known lol

Would merc's be classified under the combat division, or is it getting its own division?

Combat division, I would say. Kind of makes sense.

I'm pretty excited for the game to come out. I've got some pretty nice piloting skills in one of the fastest ships in the game (Mustang Omega). While I might not be one of the giant destroyers or cargo ships I still have decent firepower. Plus I use a console remote to fly my ship since it's a lot easier to steer. (Though the controls are a bit... interesting) So I can't wait till the game release comes out. Though it may not be soon seeing how they pushed back Star Marine by a few months.

See you in space!
