Lex Luthor and Alfred casted for BvS

19 posts in this topic

Ok, so both Alfred Pennyworth and Lex Luthor have been casted at last for DC's next blockbuster Batman vs Superman (until new name it shall remain like this).

For Lex Luthor, they have casted Jesse Eisenberg. Not familiar with him? He's the main protagonist of Zombieland and The Social Network. Can he pull off the iconic and eternal rival of the Man of Steel? Well, I'm sceptical about it, as he does not bring the threatening, yet charming air Lex Luthor usually presents.

For the cast of the forever faithful and loving butler/father for the Dark Knight, it's Jeremy Irons. Most relate him to villains as soon as they see him or hear his name. Can he make the audience change their perspective and show the man that raised the dark vigilante? I hope so.

So, I leave the source here. As always discuss this casting choices.

I kept hoping Michael Rosenbaum would get Lex.

I really liked his Lex Luther in Smallville.

Jeremy Irons I can take, that one I don't mind.

Is...... Is......... Is Zack Snyder tripping balls when he made these decisions? I mean he made 2 casting decisions that everyone don't like and now he's going to add a third one???? I don't know how this movie is going to turn up now. I can accept Ben Affleck and Gal Gadot, but now

Jesse Eisenberg??? I mean you can go all in if your cards are straight flush, but this one's just a flush!

You know what, as I have said before, let's just see how this movie turns out. Jesse Eisenberg bald looks pretty good as Lex, more like young Lex though but stil good. Now he just have to act like Lex and not the Facebook creator in Social Network, although if the movie can include facebook that'll be interesting to see. We did have Heath ledger as Joker and Michael Keaton as Batman and they turn out great. Who knows, maybe these 3 will turn out defying expectations.

I would agree with the people saying "What the fuck?" but then I just think about Heath Ledger and how EVERYONE was hating on him for being the new Joker. But look what happened. He was GREAT as the Joker. This guy probably won't live up to that performance but maybe he'll be better than what many of you guys think he'll be. I'm just playing devil's advocate.

But yeah I'm not terribly excited about this movie anymore. I loved Man of Steel and never really expected it to be bad, but I can see Man of Steel 2 turning out to be a shit show. Not good.

I agree on losing hope for this movie they have officially ruined it for me.

I can only hope this movie is secretly a Bizarro World story, but it's sounding more and more like an SNL bit.

I'm still looking forward to Man of Steel 2, despite this casting. Though I believe Jesse can pull it off.

A younger Lex Luthor who isn't physically imposing but instead has the intellect to outsmart Superman and/or manipulate Batman into fighting each other. Since Lex Luther isn't a fighter but a mastermind, perhaps the chose a younger actor to represent a modern day Lex Luthor akin to real-world young entrepreneurs in the High-Tech industry.

Hmm, I was thinking, what if during the process of the movie one of the cast bails out and said "if you don't cast Brian Cranston as Lex Luthor, I will quit?" Or maybe Jason Eisenberg himself quits and recommend Brian Cranston as Lex Luthor? Of course the likelyhood of this is slim, but it'll be awesome.

Too old for them... i think they follow the trail of the last Superman comics, Lex is the same age of Clark in thoses.

And look at the result of this very good fan made trailer with Cranston:
