Games that Only You Seem To Like

48 posts in this topic

Mine are Silent Hunter 4 and 5; these games were made by UbiSoft and so mods are required to fix all the bugs and crap. These are Submarine simulation games set in WW2. And when I say "simulation" I mean about as real as a game can get to commanding a submarine in combat... These games don't hold your hand and are insanely addicting.

There's not a more satisfying moment in gaming than attacking a convoy and sinking a few fat merchant ships before ghosting away as enemy escorts frantically comb the area for you.

Silent Hunter 4 is outstanding. That and 3.

5..............I wasn't a fan of.

Yes 4 is amazing. Vanilla 5 is awful, truly an abomination... but with a few mods it's actually pretty cool! :D  The best mods I found are on SubSim forums.

Alpha Protocol: I played this game when I was younger and enjoyed it, I didn't noticed the bad AI and got swept up in the story. I thought the characters in the game were really cool.

Risen 1: (please don't kill me) all I can say is being a Mage and levitating from the highest castle on the map to distant places where you had to play an extreme game of cat and mouse or get destroyed by high level monsters was exciting and fun.

I love Crackdown :D

For me, the "game only I seem to like" is the Bionic Commando 3rd person view game. It gets a lot of hate, but I think its great fun!

Proteus for me! :D I understand the game only let you wander around the island and nothing else but it still fine with me. X)

I liked Soul Calibur III's Chronicles of the Sword mode. I thought it was interesting, but no one else I've talked to about it enjoyed it if they had played it.

Heyyo,

Duke Nukem Forever.

*prepares to be thrown rocks at*

hahaha you're a brave soul saying things like that. :P It was ok, but I dunno, it just didn't feel as epic as it should have... especially compared to the mind-blowing trailer of 2001.

Anywho? My choice for game I only like? Arcania: Gothic 4. Everyone complains "it's not Gothic!" but I loved the flow of combat, which I always found broken in other Gothic games tbh (looking especially at you Gothic 3 which was a "spam attack cause blocking works only 50% of the time"). The graphics were nicely done and to me the only disappointing part was the abrupt ending, otherwise it was a good game in my books. :)

For me based of what i have seen.

<><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><><>

1.Anarchy Reigns (aka Max Anarchy) = Awesome Multiplayer Brawler

2.Tropico "series" = I AM YOUR PRESIDENTE!

3.Persona "series" = Just love it

4.Planet Explorers = Still early Dev and huge learning curve to make anything decent but love it

5.Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army = awesomely fun

6.Lost Planet 2 = Some of the most fun i ever had

7.Resident Evil: ORC = Was not bad at all, multiplayer was fun when working with a coherent team.

8.Brink = In my experience never had a problem and was fun till the end. Which sadly wasn't that long.

Thief 4 - Yeah I know.

Final Fantasy 13 - Yeah I know.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow - This game kicked 18 separate individual kinds of ass. But wasn't Symphony of the Night all over again so.....

Castlevania LOS: Mirror of Fate - See above.

Assassins Creed Revelations - Yeah I know.

Yeah I know = logically should not like - but do anyway.

i really enjoyed the story in AP and had lots of fun playing it. There is a boss fight in that game that plays ''turn up the radio" by autograph, i remember the protagonist complaining that the music was horrible, but i immediately went to youtube to look it up lol

as for Risen 1, i honestly didnt know it was unpopular, i know quite a few people who really liked it, including me :D

JSRF or jet set radio future

Absolutely loved this franchise and I really wish they made a sequel. JSRF was such a funky, out there game.

Still love Ratchet & Clank despite many telling me it's kiddy

The Bart vs games on the NES, AVGN was right that they're steaming piles of poop but dat nostalgia

Blood and magic?!! Not many people know that game but everyone I know who has tried it loves it.

Your, paladin... *falls asleep* has been killed...

THAT CANNOT BE EFFING ATTACKED MOTHER EFFER!

Lol that silly narrator.

For me... Hmm...probably tower defense games

OkOk i know they are seen as popular and successful. This is true. However they seem to be pigeonholed into mobile, cheap, low-profile titles only. Im a hardcore gamer who plays consoles, pc, single, mmo, easy games, hard games, etc. i WANT to play tower defense games too, for real, not on a browser, not on a phone, and not some steam indie game featuring artsy design and little gameplay elements over every other te game that could have been mobile.

I mean steam has a good amount of TD games but so many look like excuses for showing off some odd art style, and have less stuff than an effing warcraft/starcraft map! Why would i pay 10 bucks for a game with less features than a map i can dl free?

I want the TD genre to be taken seriously.

Age of Conan, even tho most people say it sucks and is a WoW clone i just love the art style, graphics and how many diffrent classes there are.

Heroes of might and magic:Quest for the Dragonbone staff.Played this when i was a kid and really liked how many unit types there are and how diffrent they all are. When i decided to see what other people think,I was sad that one of my favorite games was considered crap :)

I know most people have gotten over the Call of Duty series, but I will still love Call of Duty 4 no matter what! I had a lot of memories with friends on that game, so it definitely has a place in my gaming heart.  Most of the other Call of Duty games lost their luster compared to Call of Duty 4, so they don't appeal to me nearly as much.
