I already find myself having the time to play and not playing! I'm a MMO vet like most of you and love ES but I don't know what retraining me from playing as much as I can on my freetime. Like this weekend...

You might laugh but I find leveling quite the grind. Not as much as stupid asian mmos but my highest character is 11 ! lol

Anyway

It does feel pretty grindy to me too......also doesn't help grinding mobs is the fastest way to level

What MMO doesn't have some grind to it?

In stark contrast to yourself I'm in Italy and counting down the hours till I can get back to Blighty and log back in. Sad I know but true.

Grind?

I'm level 31 and haven't done any grinding .... except faces in Cyrodiil.

I think some of you are doing it wrong.

Yes, I've always refused to grind. If a game can't provide fun content that doesn't involve "go here, slay X monsters, get paid", or worse being forced to kill things without some kind of quest reward tied to it solely for XP, and I wind up being under levelled then the game is quickly abandoned. I'm a notoriously slow leveller, been playing every day (except when it was down) since early access and only have one character to level 16 but I am not under levelled for where I am in the content (quite the opposite in fact) and not once have I had to kill mobs solely for the experience. I love exploring and finding chests (which give a ton of XP btw), I love crafting and I love most of all the immersion element of the quests (at least the Dominion ones, haven't gone far with the other factions). None of that is grind to me.

Dax: You are doing something wrong. I did bat at the begining too. Just look on the map. There you can see which location you have visited and completed quests there (Uncomplete - there is just the name, Complete - There is something like: "you have stoped daedric invasion here"). I am about level 14 and with exeption of PvP I am just questing. Killing is usualy very small part of it. I am leveling slowly but I enjoy every second of it. And I fell like there is not grind at all.

I hate to say it, but in my opinion, I think Gomly is right on this one. My wife and I group together as a sorc and nightblade. We are level 15, at the north end of Auridon and haven't grinded once and we are on par with the zone, infact we are starting to out level it and we aren't even done yet.

We get every lorebook, do every quest (as in we actually read, listen and enjoy the content, not just mash through dialog), explore every location, open every treasure chest we see, every skyshard, clear every dungeon, read every bookcase...

I...just don't see how some people are complaining about leveling.

People will complain about anything, in my experience.

I also find when solo questing that there was always more then enough EXP from just A. Exploration and B. Quests to keep around the same level as the mobs I am around. My guess is that people complaining simply skip some stuff, thus missing out on major EXP. I generally go to find all map locations and clear all quests, so mayhaps if you skip stuff it seems like your not getting enough EXP.
