Is E S O Worth it? -Cartman

So guys, I want a decent view of how E S O is. Is it crap, good or horrible?

Is it worth it's price? Tell me.

Does it have those annoying things that ALL MMOs have?

Thank you

-Eric Cartman

Coming from a guy that has never really got into MMO's before. This game is really pulling me in. It expands the lore of TES, incorporates many elements from Skyrim and merging it with the MMO format. Also many in the Angry Army are having a blast being werewolves and making their pack. It does have standard MMO launch bugs and glitches but they seem to by working pretty to fix these issues. To me the game is worth the price and the sub fee. I would give it 9/10.

I'm liking the game too, and I'm lucky enough to have the disposable income to afford it. But there's no denying it is kinda expensive as games go, and on a strict fun-for-the-money basis there's plenty of games out there that blow it out of the water.  It'll be interesting to see what happens with the pricing model 6-12 months down the line, whether it's stayed the same or they cut the prices when the initial wave of hype runs out.

Hello! I am a experienced player of the Elder Scrolls (Oblivion to Skyrim) and am interested in ESO. I am also a experienced MNO player as well, so is ESO really worth getting it right away and buy the subscription or wait for it to be free to play?

Yes buy it now it is worth it. I hope it doesn't go F2P.

On a note the support for the game is about 50/50 so far for me.

Beyond that if you like PvP get it, if you like PvE I would say pass

I would say it has promise. 90% of MMO's have issues at and soon after launch and this game falls within that 90%. On top of that it's a Bethesda game and they are notorious for releasing buggy games. It doesn't have instanced nodes and everything except the main story line, mages, and fighters guild quest lines are not instanced so you can expect to see the nobs who enjoy making life hell for everyone else but honestly for the most part in almari dominion and the AJSA guild people have been friendly and helpful. There's been some heated discussions at times, but not a lot of people being nasty for the sake of being nasty which is wone of the things that ruin MMO's for me.

There has been a lot of suspicious money-grabbing, knee-jerking from Zenimax, the whole holding $15 during the free 30 days to "verify" the bank account for one, and the rumours that the thieves guild will be locked behind a paywall so it will be interesting to see how these things pan out over the next few months.

Over all I would say it's worth it, if you want to try it with lots of people best to jump in now. If you want to wait and see how it goes, wait three months or so to play the (hopefully) less buggy game.

For now, game is absolutely worthy investing in it. Story is good. Exploration is well donne, Crafting is above average. And PvP is Awesome. I am enjoying every minute even when I was very sceptical about the game and I would never bought it. I just wanted to give it a chance because of my friends and Joes PvP impresions :)

Another way too look at it is to forget about the subscription fee for now. The game cost is about normal for a game and for that you get a great deal of content. So even if you only play it for the first free month then you will certainly get your money worth out of it.

Worse case scenario is that you add it to your long list (we all have one) of stuff you wish you didn't buy. XD

Most of this depends on your play style, and that's the only honest answer. You should have tried out one of the many beta keys if you were on the fence.

That being said, If you are looking for a game to gank low level people, this isn't the game for you as the opportunities are in one area. If you hate quests where other people can be there to interfere...pass this one by. If you want an easy game without much thinking in regards to leveling up, the incredible amount of options is going to scare the heck out of you. And if you want a taskbar with every single ability you can have easily displayed, you will be frustrated.

But if you want everything available for your character without limitations as you progress; if you love the idea of crafting and don't know when to stop, if OCD is something you need to suppliment with an MMO, and if you are in the AJ army and like to help or receive help from your guild mates...this is definitely your game. It's wide open on what you do and where you go. You can spend hours searching for materials or questing - whichever you want to work on. The PvE is limited only by your funds and determination (and given my few times of playing, if you enjoy being overrun and squished). There are people in the guild over level 30, you should ask them what they think, but I think you could easily get a months worth of quality play time out of this game if not more.

Explain me one thing.

What's the point of paying 60$ for a game that you will never completely own?

Imagine that you buy the game in January. You bought it in the first day of the year. So 60$ for 1 month and then you will have to pay 15$ every month in order to continue playing the game that you already bought. And in the end of the year it means that the game costs you 225$ :o . Does a game really worth such a price? In my opinion NO. Look I've paid 30-40$ for Mount&Blade the whole collection I can play on every server i want, it doesn't have a freaking shop, as a loot of content and the community makes more content and I don't need to pay every month in order to keep playing.  Another example is Diablo 3, I bought it, it costed 60$ but, again, I don't have to pay every month in order to keep playing. And many more examples I could come up with.

Look I'm not here to be annoying you but spending 225$ on a game just makes me thing twice before I buy a game, I never bought World of Warcraft for that reason and I just started playing SWTOR because it turned F2P. So, I would like you guys to answer me this: Is The Elder Scrolls Online worth 225$ ?

I find it rather slow, the bank bug the skill lost bug that hit me and the seemingly never ending broken quest, make me give it a 4/10.  The customer service is meh and the fact they have no idea how fix either of the two major issues I've had makes me GO "OH MY GOD" Skyrim even with all the bugs at release was a ton more fun for me. And maybe they should call the people that wrote the Unofficial Skyrim patches and get the damn game fixed.

Oh and of today they still havent fixed the quest that gets you from VR5 to VR6 zones or was it VR6 to VR7 for AD the motes quest

And so far haven't found a grinding spot worth a hoot

We would have to play for a year to find out, wont we?

Also, I find it unreasonable to compare ESO to non-MMO games, such as Mount and Blade or Diablo 3. There are major differences, having an online option does not make it one.

I would also point out that in this day and age you don't own any modern games. It's more a case of you have purchased a license to play the game.

Using Diablo 3 as an example...it has no offline mode so if Blizzard decide to stop supporting it then you no longer have Diablo 3.

Look you are both right, i've compare it to stupid games that have nothing to do with ESO, but we still have Guild Wars 2 as a good example.
