Halo: The Master Chief Collection?

7 posts in this topic

Just when you thought you've been Halo'd out this week with the announcement of Halo 5 and Spartan Assault being part of Games With Gold news come out that Halo's 1-4 (with the exception of Reach & ODST) will be HD released on Xbox One. Sources say that the set will zero in on Halo's most famous soldier to refresh audience's memories ahead of Halo 5 Guardian's release.

I know there are a lot of people that are burned out on halo, but I can never get enough. Can't wait to go through it all again on my one.

A friend of mine once hypothesized about releasing the entire original halo trilogy 1-3 with ODST slapped in as a bridging game between 2 and 3, all in one game pack like Metroid trilogy. He'd though it'd be cool to add in bonus unlock able levels too where you could play as characters from the expanded universe in scenarios from the books, like being able to fly a longsword at the battle of sigma octanus, or even playing as the forerunners in a series prologue mission during the forerunner flood war.

That would be sick!

I was giving this concept some more thought...

How would the combat work? Assuming this game would be made with the new engine, does that mean we'd be getting a sneak peek at the way combat will be handled in Halo 5? Would dual wielding still work in Halo 2 and 3, but not in 1 or 4? If so then would online multiplayer exist for the title? Would each of the individual games combat and balance be faithful to how they were each originally portrayed?

I'm really excited for this to turn out to be true, but I hope it's handled right.

Not much is known about it, it's still technically a rumour that hasn't been confirmed, it maybe just a 1080p/60fps port of the games running on the original engine. Halo CE Anniversary ran 2 engines at the same time the original and the new version but this was to allow the swapping between the original and re-mastered versions but I don't see that happening in this. I hope they port the mechanics and multiplayer of each game and run it on lets say the Halo 4 engine which was graphically impressive and maybe update some character models.
