World of Tanks

14 posts in this topic

Anyone played World of Tanks? I have played World of Tanks. Unfortunately, there is no AJSA clan in World of Tanks. So I just joined BFPA clan instead. If you open AJSA clan in WarGaming. I will join you, but I would forgive my comrade to leave the BFPA clan for me. So here it is the official website.

http://worldoftanks.com/

It's free-to-play. I just played World of Tanks for first time since I watched Girls und Panzer anime.

Yeah I play it, I quite enjoy it though I play on the Eu server and while I do have some problem with the game, I was on a panel on it earlier today and I do think that the game has great potential if they work a bit more on their monetization model.

Would also love to see a subforum featuring either World of Tanks or Wargaming.net to cover their 3 main games:
World of Tanks
World of Warplanes
World of Warships

Yes. I'm good at playing World of Tanks. Unfortunately I'm member of BFPA clan the sister to KURO clan. But I didn't know if there is second one. I should rename this title for this thread is "Can we establish AJSA clan in World of Tanks?"

There are some WoT players around.

Also, I just read about one from WoWP.

WoT was already polled for official support, but the last two waves of polls for support went for "no support" almost universally.

There is an unofficial AJSA Clan in the EU cluster, but it seems dead (7 people, 1 or 2 active).

There was a push earlier (almost a month ago) to get official sanction to build the Clans, but last time I talked with Damion Rayne he commented something about the way to give official support was bound to change.

But, after all, what is needed is players. I guess if we can gather at least 15 frequent players ready to engage in Team Battles and/or Clan Wars, the request might be granted.

At least that would allow us to set up 2 Teams or one CW group and plan our flag on the map.

Heyyo,

Yeah WOT probably won't get official support. It's a fun game, but I think people are put off too much from the match making service being considered unfair in many cases due to gaps in skill between the players which is too bad because I have lots of fun in the game, but it gets extremely frustrating when I'm doing so well and our team craters because we only had a handful of good players vs a bunch of good players... WOT might be one of the only games that uses match making that doesn't take skill into factor... even the very broken APB Reloaded has some form of skill-based mm...

And WT uses a skill-dependant MM?

I haven't checked much, so I really don't know.

On the other hand, that's regarding Random battles.

On Team Battles skill ratings are generated and teams are matched against simmilarly-ranked teams.

On the other hand, Clan Wars has always playground for the unicorns and top dogs.

WT has sort of dynamic skill MM. It puts you in higher BR games than what your planes/vehicles have if you do good.

It apparently also automatically balances BR ratings according to player performance of those vehicles but that's just a rumor.

Interestingly enough, the 13 reasons we hate it doesn't include the buggy patches, the MM and the performance hits due to lousy programming

Exactly. WarThunder has a form of it at least. It bases the Battle Rating on both the user's battle rating and the vehicle's batting rating... which is a lot better than World of Tanks "oh you want skilled match making? Tank Companies is all you get for a basic one."

That has to be the most silliest review of games I've ever seen lol... :P

AJSA are more into WarThunder that WoT

I would love to play WoT but I am so unlucky with the match making that it make me rage (aka level 2 light tank against level 4 heavy tank that I cant scratch)

It have being month since I didn't play so I don't know if this problem got worst or better (and I guest it the game that want people to play and don't wait for Match Making and throw all the people available in a game).

In WoT, all tanks (but Tiers 1, Tier-4 heavies, and some preferred matchmaking tanks) face against tanks 2 tiers higher.

When you face such an opponent, there are three courses of action (dying is NOT a course, but failure in executing one of these three)

1.- You engage from a distance, behind another tank that can hurt that heavy, and aim for weakspots.

2.- You flank the heavy. Side and rear armor is usually softer, and if your team engages a tough one from different angles, he can't shoot you all as quickly.

3.- You move away and look for anoher tank that you can actually damage.

This applies to all Tiers in WoT, and I guess it would also apply on WT:GF.

In-game light tanks have the role of a scout and so in some cases suffer higher battle tiers where they won't ever be top tier but will be one tier below top at all times. At most there will be tanks three tiers higher.
