Hello guys, I'm considering a purchase of Guild Wars 2 because I am bored from "Kill 2 Rats" Quest MNOs. What things should I look out for before entering? Is there any tips to consider? (Will read Hints & Tips) and what server is AJSA on?

The Angry Army plays on Northern Shiverpeaks (American server).

It's actually a good moment to join, soon another living story will start, so you can pick up right from the beginning ;)

Joe explains in his review pretty well what you can expect, and that without monthly subscription! :D If you have questions, you can always ask them in Guild chat once you're accepted, we'll be glad to help!

hope to see you soon!

Sincerely,

Lord of Quaggans

First you should see if the playstyle of the game fits you, and like Yododet said, Joe explains it in his review, although it is outdated and many many things got better, new content etc.

Joe did give it a legendary score of 10/10 for a reason.

You do have a number of those quests such as kill 10 rats... but there's a great diversity of them and thankfully they're a minority of the quests.

Oh, do you? There is no quest you can finish in less than 2 ways, killing is just an option :)

If you hate the "kill two rats" questing system that MMOs such as WoW and ESO use then you'll probably really like the dynamic event system in GW2. Like okito said, there are multiple ways to finish most events. For example, the first one in Queensdale, the human starting area, lets you complete the event by killing worms, watering crops, feeding cows, killing bandits, or killing the worm queen when it spawns. The best part about this system imo is that your fellow players help you instead of competing with you for mobs or resource nodes (which are instanced). You won't run into a situation where you need to kill something and it is already tagged to another player so you're free to take it down together when you come across random people.

Also don't expect a traditional WoW style gear treadmill end game. Instead you're free to do any of the content GW2 offers, and it offers a lot. You can do sPVP, WvW, Dungeons, kill champs in PVE, hunt for armor and weapon skins, do map completion, do your Personal Story, do the Living Story content which is updated regularly, do Fractals of the Mists, hunt achievements, or level an alt. just to name a few options you have. There are also mini games like Sanctum Sprint and Southsun Survival to enjoy.

Furthermore, sPVP will have you playing on a level playing field with everyone else. Armor, weaopns and levels are standardized so no one will ever have a gear or level advantage over you. You also get access to all the runes, sigils, and signets you need to fully customize your character's build. You also get full access to your characters traits (kind of like talents in WoW) and you can build and reset you your character at any time outside of combat. This makes combat purely strategy and skill based as no one will ever have a gear or level advantage over you.
