Mortal Kombat  Xhas been officially announced for a 2015 release with a new trailer showing off an incredibly atmospheric battle between the iconic Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

The trailer, which you can see below, looks absolutely incredible and appears to be made almost entirely from gameplay footage. A number of key features were shown off, including the return of personal weapons as well as environmental interaction that allows you to rip branches off trees and beat your opponents with them.

The video also shows off the X-Ray attacks introduced in the 2011 reboot of the franchise, which gruesomely depict body parts getting broken and bruised. Check it out.

Sorry man, there's already a thread about this.

http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/topic/19440-mortal-kombat-x/

Well that link doesn't work anymore, the mods moved that thread into this one so now this is the official MKX thread I guess.

Anyways the trailer was pretty awesome though I haven't been much of a MK fan though I know a friend who's going to be excited about this.

Yeah that is clearly a CG trailer and the game wont look anything like that.

Not hyped for this as MK games suck after the first 3.  They are just too clunky imo.

I'm not much a fighter genre guy, I know this franchise has a staple in video games. I am glad to see there is a Mortal Kombat title making its way, and probably because Mortal Kombat 9 was widely praised. I bet we will see gameplay at E3, seeing how close this was announced to E3. Watched the trailer myself, and I know its CGI but it's still cool to watch. See Sub-zero and Scorpion beating the hell out of one another, we all know we love seeing that.

My question is there was rumor that there was gonna be another Mortal Kombat movie, which would continue based of the Mortal Kombat series from Machinima. And from what the rumor also said, that the series would introduce a brand new character, which would be the focus for the movie. Now that's all rumor and he said she said (Can't find the original article on it). So Lets just say this is true, that there was gonna be a brand new character brought in to the series and movie side.

Will we see this new character in this game? Will it be debate in the game first? If the rumor is true, would you like to see a brand new character?

I've got no clue, where did you originally post it at? I'll look into it.

This is not a 'CG' trailer, this is a controlled engine demonstration. The game could easily look this good without question as the world is not expansive and there is very little being rendered. The graphical budget for a game like this is very small as compared to say an open world or racing game, they can focus heavily on graphical fidelity.
