"The world’s largest video game collection is on sale. The record is recognized by Guinness World Records. Over 11,000 games are ready for purchase with the current bid sitting at $50,000. Guinnss did not count duplicates, so every game is unique with no repeats. Bidding will end in 9 days.

Michael Thomasson, the owner of the collection, is selling due to family issues. He said “I’m also including the actual Guinness Certificate”. Along with that winner will also receive a lifetime subscription to Retro Magazine, including all back issues and an autographed copy of the premiere issue that features this very collection. Guinness did not count duplicates, so every game is unique with no repeats. Bidding will end in 9 days."

I'd give him a Penny for that entire collection

The only problem I'd have with it is that there are sure to be a lot of stinkers in that collection. After all, for every Okami you get 4 or 5 Ride to Hell: Retribution's.

The fact that someone is actually willing to waste 50,000 dollars on that makes me face palm.

Very true, but you have to admit, there Is a gimmick to owning some of the old, really shitty titles. Like E.T, that Superman game where everything is green, and I think I saw Waterworld in there as well.

You would essentially be bidding on a pretty sizable portion of video game history.

Well waste is subjective. People spend far more on 50 year old whiskies, but that doesn't necessarily make it a waste.

If you have 50,000 bucks to spend on something like this, chances are you've wasted it on sillier things, at least here you get some history for your money, and a Guinness world Record certificate.

And, given the size of the collection, there's a decent chance some of that shit will get pretty valuable someday.

Arsenal jersey ftw. I gotta get that one with SEGA on it.

But hell no would I spend 50k on that. I mean, if I won the lottery for half a billion, sure, why the hell not.

But when I'm not living the dream, how about no.

Wonder if it comes with the consoles needed to play the older, or "other" ones.
