Midora - Funded

5 posts in this topic

Midora has relaunched. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1867607597/midora-0

In their own words it is inspired by SNES games like Link to the Past and Secret of Mana:

There is supposed to be a video above, but preview dont show it, so linking some pictures instead.

Besides my love for these type of games, who wouldnt want to play a game where one of the NPCs is this guy:

Legolas_Katarn and Sol Omega like this

Midora has just sent out an update, that might interest some of you console folk as some of the new stretch goals are the following

  • At $150,000, we will port the game to PS4 and Xbox.
  • At $200,000, you will be able to play Midora on the 3DS.
  • And finally, at $220,000, Midora will be ported to Wii U.

67 hours to go.

Still need to hit the base line for the kickstarter!

$55,312 pledged of $60,000 goal

Please note this about the stretchgoals for console release:

The way stretch goals are presented make it look like the game will not be ported if we don't reach the goal. This isn't true! Right now we have plans to port Midora on all platforms and consoles possible. Console ports will happen no matter what, it's just a matter of time. If we don't reach those stretch goals, that only means the game will be ported later. With the extra money from stretch goals however, we can hire a few people to have the game ported while we're making progress, which in turn means releasing the game on consoles sooner, or even allowing us to release simultaneously.

We've been told that stretch goal backers often cancel their pledges at the last minute if there isn't enough money. That's one thing we really don't want to see happening! As of now, we know that quite a lot of you are console backers. Pledging $10 will get you a console copy, it's only a matter of when! We will make sure to get back to all backers whenever the game is released on an extra platform or console. But to do that, we need to have a solid $60,000 from you guys to make sure the game happens in the first place! Don't let all this hard work go to waste!

I really REALLY hope that it doesnt fail again... last time was due to poor timing, but this time arround it seems lack of interest is also a factor (2500 backers isnt a huge number).

Note that they currently plan to release their level editor and their script language (post release), so people kan make their own stuff!

With the last day of Kickstarters usually being one of the best days they have, failing would be very unlikely.

2,500 is a very large number when compared to most projects and is very good for yet another game that cites Zelda as an example. They are doing very well when there are already other Kickstarter games coming out like this.

You were right, 800 backers raised 18k so it ended on 73k.
