Couple of things;

First off, No one should try to open their Xbox One for any reason. It will void your warranty, and any attempt to modify the consoles hardware carries the risk of bricking the console whos warranty you just voided.

Secondly, the Xbox One supports external hard drives now, there is zero need to tamper with the 500GB standard hard drive.

If the external storage works the way Microsoft says it will, this shouldn't be necessary.

If the external storage works the way Microsoft says it will, this shouldn't be necessary.

According to Myles, this Is how It's gonna work:

When external storage support arrives, you Xbox One will be able to support up to two external hard drives at once. Any hard drive with a USB 3.0 connection and over 256 GB of space will be formatted in order to allow you to move games, apps and add-ons to solve issues many have had with space on your console.

This also means you'll be able to take content to a friend's house and play a game directly from a hard drive, though you will be required to log in to Xbox Live if you purchased the content digitally, or insert a disc of you have a physical copy to verify ownership. On the plus side, you won't need to patch and re-download DLC. Tools to copy full games and all their associated DLC to and from hard drives will be available from June.

And to be honest i'd rather have a external hard drive with XB1 and even PS4 so that there is no need to swap and transfer stuff :/

this is extremely pointless to ask to fix (or bitch about) there are only minor things to be fixed/added on XB1 as of now since Microsoft has seemed to update it pretty well.

All the next gen consoles should be under warranty until at least the end of the year (in the UK anyway) if people start to report huge problmes like the Red Ring O Death then they would have to extend this.

They are mate. Pretty sure the standard warranty covers the first year. But If you open up your console, or tamper with it in any way other than what was intended, you void the warranty.

There is no need because X1 could support 2 external drives at once
