That's quite the exclusive for microsoft. Never got around to playing the first but heard it was awesome

I already made a comment in the PlayStation section about this, but I'll repeat it here just to clarify.

I have an XBox One, so will still be able to play this, but I'm still pretty pissed about it. This is game that more than others should not be an exclusive to one console. It more that likely is another Beyonetta 2, but this is going to greatly limited the profit potential, so I genuinely believe they will put less money into it and the game might suffer as a result.

If you're making it for 1 console your total costs are going to be lower, I'm pretty surprised on it not being on the PC though. The last Tomb Raider wasn't that profitable and I wouldn't see it changing if it was on all platforms hence why Microsoft funding the title argument makes since. Fanboy reactions are pretty funny though.

Actually concentrating on one version instead of several could make it an even better game. It means more money that they can put into it instead of it being spread out. Not to mention whatever money MS gave to them to make it an exclusive. I'm sure that it was several million dollars.

This is a big surprise, and I would have to agree with shagger in that I don't think it's wise.  With the architecture for the XBox One and PS4 being similar to PC, ports to these platforms cost minimal additional time and money to develop.

It's a great exclusive for XBox but I think there will be plenty of PC and PlayStation gamers feeling rightfully salty about this.

No shit, the hate is frikin everywhere, it always is with Xbox today no matter what they do, even Joe did an angry rant vid (which I strongly disagree with) . I don't think it was anything sinister there is probably a very good reason it is this way.

I don't know what to say about this.
I'm not a big fan of the franchise though..
I felt bad for my friends since they're big fans of the franchise and have no plans on buying an XB1.
(They only want to focus on 1 console which is the PS4..)
Lots of gamers were looking forward on reboot's sequel and now.. this.

Oh well.. I'll just invite them into my house and have a playthrough w/ them.

This. I love this. This Is way better than more hate, this is a nice solution.

Less mindless hate, more LAN parties.

 this is a nice solution.

Yes indeed.

Back in the day when RE4 was only playable on Gamecube.

(Only had a PS2 back then)

My mate invited me & some of my friends to play the game on his house.

Problem Solved.

Then I waited for the PS2 release so I can beat the game by myself.

But hey, at least RIse of TR is now timed exclusive.

It's guaranteed that more people can play it..
