Guys, let's not turn this into a flame war between consoles. I'm getting both, but It's called the xbox one, leave it at that. Not Xbone, not xboner, not xbox 180, not xbox 720p. Doing that makes you sound like the lowest person out there and I doubt we want that kind of attitude here. Wtih that said, it's all about the games. Let's go with that. mmm, k?

Couldn't agree with you more. All the blind fanboy rage over something so stupid as minor resolution differences at the very start of the life of these new consoles is so trivial it's ridiculous. The Xbone might not be quite as powerful on paper as the Playstation 4 but you're still getting a lot of bang for your buck. Both of these consoles are easily capable of native 1080p resolution, just because Call of Duty and Battlefield 4 aren't in native 1080p coming out of the gates for the Xbone doesn't mean that future titles won't be. The developers themselves have said that the Xbone is plenty capable of 1080p.  The whole fanboy console war thing drives me nuts. The gaming community should be just that... a community, where people who love games come together on common ground. Instead we have people nitpicking every little detail about the console they're not buying this month and waving their fanboy flags in everyone's faces.

While the fanboys flame each other and the opposite systems I'll buy both the Xbone and the PS4 and I'll enjoy everything the next generation of console gaming has to offer. I'll enjoy titles like Last of Us, Killzone, and Infamous on the PS4 and on the same token I'll enjoy titles like Halo, Titanfall, and Destiny on the Xbone. The fanboys can fight and argue and miss out on the great exclusive titles that whatever system they're opposed to has to offer.

While the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox, resolution isn't really the most concerning downfall. With HDMI I doubt anyone will notice.

NO NO NO NO NO  NO NO. How can you injoy a good game if the way you can see it is crap?

because what makes a good game isnt how the graphics look (no one is at the level of graphics you cant see things) its about the story and the game play if its fun to play and keeps you interested thats enough for me

If Microsoft wants to watch me eating Doritos and drinking Mountain Dew naked on the couch, then that's their problem.

So a bit of searching on the web does seem to point to XB1 having the ability to support native 1080p, Need for Speed being the title mentioned.  In anycase, lets say it was 720p for argument sake.  Upscaling technology has become so good now a day that you're most definitely going to be noticing the game play over some minor upscaling artifact.

As far as the Kinect2 goes, I think many of you are completely disregarding what it means to a game developer to know that EVERYBODY who owns the XB1 can take advantage of features they include into their game that use the Kinect2.  You'll definitely start to see AAA games utilize this new design space because they can be certain their investment in this technology will reach 100% of their audience.

People make the resolution of a game out like its the only important aspect of the game. I mean if that was the case then Killzone and Knack should have mopped the floor with Dead Rising on Metacritic, but when you have a really pretty game that's not that fun to play compared to a Somewhat pretty game that is very fun to play, the fun game is going to be more well received :D

I 100% agree with the Kinect thing. Sony completely killed the Eye Camera when they decided not too bundle it with the system.

I don't know, personally the whole thing between 1080p and 720 is just a number-wank. I'm okay with games only running 720. Hell, I prefer watching movies on 720 anyway

the ps3 does have better hardware it was just handled poorly with memory restrictions. At this stage the ps4 has fixed those issues and is looking to be the stronger console

Threads like this make the Xbox One harder to buy. I've been 100% Xbox for the past decade in gaming, as long as I could remember I had one sitting in my room amid scattered discs cases, empty Coke cans, and dishes. Blind loyalty won't surpass actual quality now days and I'm really considering Play Station for this generation. I got my feet wet with PC gaming, and as much as I'd like to go that route, my band of friends stick to consoles, lucky their kinda split and I'd have some buddies if I decided to go with PS4.
