HEY ALL,

Just wondering what peoples thoughts on doing more retro gaming here are?

Given how difficult (but usually, impossible) it is to play on-line with retro consoles and games there isn't really anything we can do with them other than talk about them, and we can do that already though the forums. Sorry bro, but that's really about it.

I own a number of retro systems and wish I had more time for them, but my gaming time has been taken up with XBox One and PC so much latly that there just isn't time. What I love about older games is how much more challenging they are compared to modern titles. They can be fantastic fun, but there is a few technical pitfalls to avoid, so it's not as easy as some people say.

I love Doom and Doom modding, does that say much? :)

You're not a real man, until you own a Vectrex. :)

The only time I tried to play Retro games with my friends online was when we tried to play Project64 together and it worked perfectly... until it completely f***ed up for no reason the next day and we were de-syncing like crazy which rendered the games completely unplayable.

No, until that formula is figured out we'll have to stick to playing crappy console ports of our favourite old games or buy an AV Cable for our favourite old systems.

I usually have a big sprite of retro gaming during summer droughts.

nope. if you get a component cable instead of AV, you will get a brilliant picture even on an HD tv. way better than AV. i hooked up my PS2 with a component cable and it's amazing the picture quality. try it out with your consoles. im sure you can get component cables for whatever retro console you're using.

Thanks for the advice but The AV Cable was just referencing me being limited to playing them on the couch with friends as opposed to online.
