  • City policies: Set policies to guide how the city and districts develop over the course of your playthrough.
  • City districts: Personalize city districts with names of your choice for variety and personality.
  • Road building and zoning
  • Unlock buildings and services
  • Taxation: Fine-tuning the city budget and services and setting TAXarrow-10x10.png rates to different residential, commercial and industrial levels and controlling what kind of areas are more likely to spawn in the zoned areas
  • Public TRANSPORTATIONarrow-10x10.png: Build transport networks throughout the city with buses and metros
  • Outside connections: Make industry and commercial districts flourish with new customers in the neighboring cities
  • Wonders: the ultimate end-game content that the players strive towards
  • Huge maps: Unlock new map tiles with unique possibilities to expand the city
  • Water flow simulation: Add new challenges to water services.
  • Polished visual style and core gameplay
  • Modding tools: Built in feature designed to encourage creative pursuits

Sadly there wont be any multiplayer but honestly it will be even more polished

Wow, only one thread and no replies... Are city builders dead? I for one am really excited to see this game and hope I will find a solution so I can play it (my PC is on its last legs and I don't think this will run properly on my MacBook).

I bought the last SimCity on day one and before seeing the reviews. Boy, that was a huge disappointment! A city builder with plots that were too small to get anything going properly. Cities Skylines seems like a breath of fresh air and I really hope it lives up to expectations.

The reviews so far have been very positive and my impression is that they went out of their way to essentially create Sim City the way people wanted it to be. The maximum size of the city is huge and if you have the hardware, you can even mod it to be bigger. I also like the way the city looks. Simple, but nice. And with all the possibilities to mod pretty much everything in the game, there are few limits.

Too bad I have no hardware to run this. My Macbook has an older Intel 3000, which can't run the game. I'm hoping now that I will have an excuse to buy a new PC or laptop soon.  ;)

I'm also enjoying the game. Although I can't really see well enough to play at night so I play with the cycle disabled.

The game is great in general, but for me it has one huge problem.... and yes..... again its traffic.... Allright, its not as fucked up as in other games! It generalle works as supposed, especially with good planning.... except one thing...

On crossings where multilane streets come together in a Y shape, or when you have a 3 lane road come down from the highway onto your mainroad... they only use ONE!!! damn lane, even when they have 3!

On such crossings traffic lights make it even WORSE!

I strongly recommend a few traffic mods to you! One of them to place/remove traffic lights as they are BULLSHIT on some crossings and highway ramps.... If you want to spend even more time into it, there are some great lane management mods like "Traffic ++"
