LinusTechTips is expanding!

For those of you who don't know LTT is a PC hardware "unboxings reviews and other computer videos" based channel on youtube, and they've recently doubled they're video production per day in the interest of transitioning (expanding rather) seamlessly over to Vessel which will allow them to maintain their regular youtube schedule while luanching content early on V, this comes as a result of youtubes cracking down on hard ads on vids (built in) which LTT relies on to keep producing high quality videos!

Also there's an epic ass (that was a mistype but I'm leaving it) hell giveaway!

Just tried the Vessel site and holy Jesus it is a clusterfuck of all things wrong with web design for the past couple of years.

Eh... I like it well enough, I presume what your getting at is style over function?

Yeah, the design is so over the top that it actually makes harder to access the content.

Call me old-fashioned but I'd take the good old Youtube feed or even the homepage over Vessel's IN YOUR FACE god awful mosaic of different-sized thumbnails and video previews.

I think it's basically this, YouTube is more viewer friendly whereas Vessel is more creator friendly. I think I'll be missing out on some LinusTechTips in the future because I'm not to sure how much I like Vessel. (even though I did get a free year of it)

You won't miss anything, every video will be uploaded to YouTube eventually just later than on Vessel, excepting CES and GPU launch coverage which will launch alongside Vessels upload on YT.

I say great for the content creators but I have to agree, the design is too "Web 3.0" for me. The only thing we can hope for is that Vessel puts pressure on Youtube to reverse their recent "reaffirming" of their bad rule.

I mean, dear god,  just look at this

http://a.pomf.se/selpfp.mp4

MAXIMUM INTRUSIVENESS

It's like if windows 8 got it on with youtube cept the sidebar in the top left screen got a windows 10 thing going on.

I don't want vessel to succeed. Not because of it's crappy design but the fact that it's a paid subscription model to youtube videos. Sure now it's just early access but what if this shit picks up and some of our favorite channels find it redundant to keep their youtube counterpart going? Maybe a stretch but I can see this happening.

The problem right now is that youtube doesn't really have any stiff competition, there's plenty o fish in the sea, but just one fisherman.

Youtube definitely needs competition, but I don't think a subscription-based web 3.0 netflix wannabe trying to be like old TV is the way to go.
