Aragorn195

My biggest problem with Skyrim

Is there a mod that changes the terrible main storyline?

Seriously, that's the worst part of the whole game. While playing I've done everything so that I didn't have to follow the main quests.

I dont think ANYONE follows the Main Story line from start to finish without doing anything else. In my playthrough I got to Whiterun, from there I went to do the Civil War storyline, and while I was doing that I constantly ended up doing some other random quest. Thats how you play these games, atleast it seems to me. Its a open world where you choose where to go, what to do, if you go and just follow the main story line and nothing else. Hell I can myself see that being booring.

Considering the main storyline is half done, thats why most ppl lose interest and twoddle of elsewhere.

For example, most towns/ castles were meant to be besiged but never got finished, giants were meant to be brought into the war, list goes on of unfinished parts, god only knows what else was meant to be in but never got added to code.

The mod that brings most of the civil war to a better way (thought buggy) is a better example of how it shouldve been.

But to be fair most of the fun of TeS games is the exploration & discovery and random questing, and naked mods, i mean great follower mods.. :)

You speak of the Civil War storyline... thats not the main storyline. The main storyline is the Dragonborn, Greybeard, Alduin thing. Civil War quest line is a major side quest line.

I think Skyrim's main storyline was ok, but not a masterpiece. IMO Elder Scroll games in general lacked a good plot twist or anything but what makes them good is the side quest and the fact that the game can so easily strike you off from your main path to just go around and do other things.

It seems to me that games like these dont really have that of a main story like some other games like. Skyrim is a huge open world where you can go everywhere you want and do what you want basically, games that are more story focused, like Dragon Age: Origins have less of a open world like Skyrim. If I make any sense what so ever.
