Great news, and a great last 10 seconds for that video.

I'd like to see Steam in general have that kind of attitude with all the awful comments people make in some of the games forums.

I don't blame them. If anything, like Legolas (sort of) said, I think more companies should take the extra step and do the same.

That's kind of harsh.

Maybe perma-mute would be nice, but really? Perma ban?

if you ask me, I fully agree with tripwire's decision, trolls are a blight on the internet and gaming and In my opinion, banning them is the best way to teach them a lesson.

I moderated for a few chinese companies years back and used the mute button on a lot of so many people who deserved ban`s instead, but companies dont wanna lose consumers.. It was like talking to a wall that for every troll you allow to continue playing after the horrible things theyve said you`ll lose decent players. And finally my point was taken when a whole clan of trolls grouped up on a new game and eradicated the server through vile and horrible things. Thankfully i was promoted and the bosses stepped aside and the trolls faced bans instead of mutes. last 2 years i worked there player base stayed rising and surpassed what we ever had before and we lost no more players except for maybe 20 people. instead of hundreds a day.

Ban. Ban them all, and change how social people are on the web. Im talking hardcore trolls here not arguments or flame wars. Stuff gets out of hand, mute em. but for the bad ones, ban.

i Agree with Tripwire's policy, if this gets trendy, imagine just how drastically it could change the environment we currently have in multiplayer games! Every few games i play doesn't matter which multiplayer game, i see someone Cursing someone else's mom in chat, or voice. Its kinda unpleasant having to hear and see such things. Don't you agree? It takes the immersion the game may have out of the game. Like this guy said in the video, i completely agree with him.

Though, i think Tripwire's new Rules are good, they shouldn't tighten it up no more than it is. Because then it could get out of hand. Everything that has to be getting rid off is there in there EULA, more of these restrictions towards how anyone should behave is kinda unnecessary. Why? Because you bought the game, and i don't think they put there EULA in there steam store page right? So u for-hand, can look what you can & cannot do in there game.

But i think this is great though! Might be a big step up! B)

I also want to add that I love that they can possibly get the game removed from their account entirely.

I was a referee at a rec paintball field (one where you play outdoors or possibly in more urban style areas compared to the speedball fields that has all the blow up cover pieces on a small field for around 10 people) through high school, every now and then we would get some scumbag who would be cheating, swearing at everyone constantly, threatening people, and making customers have terrible time (often it could be someones first experience with paintball, young kids or their parents who now don't want to continue playing or who don't want to come back). It was always a great feeling to kick them out. Then they would ask for a refund, and we would tell them that after trying to ruin games, our reputation, the experience of our other customers, and after having played a few games that they aren't getting one and that not only can they not come back to our place but that we are the only rec field unless they want to drive about four+ hours to get somewhere else. So, unless they move, they are pretty much done with paintball in general.

Hilariously once or twice we had someone try to make a scene whining about our policies and his free speech and customer is always right, blah blah typical poorly educated troll shit, then he'd look to the other customers like they would have his back. They just stared at him like he was an idiot, then eventually a 10-11 year old kid yelled something like, "Go home, no one wants you here." ...Good times.

What's with the article why would anyone be against this, or acting like it's some kind of hidden plot in an agreement you can barely see? .....Oh this guy, I remember some of his tweets, no wonder he's upset he's the kind of person who would probably get banned from games if they all started having policies like this.

I know more than a few guys who would never play again if this became the norm, can only hope it does eventually.

So, I read article and turns out that the writer is against KF2's EULA policies. The writer was pretty much making it look like tripwire is planning a conspiracy. Yeah, banning trolls, hackers and cheaters is quite the conspiracy, ins't it?
