What is the best laptop you can get from these sights?

5 posts in this topic

I kinda depends on what you need it for, movies, music, school/collage, work or just general web browsing?  For example if it's for college work then you might want to get a used Mac for their reliability and light weight.  For music you might want to get one with a optical drive so you can rip your CD's.  For watching movies you will want more storage space and a big screen and/or HDMI port.

For £300 you'r not going to get a "can do it all" machine, and it won't be much good for gaming either except for some older titles.

I recently bought an Acer Aspire E 13 from Amazon, it lacks and optical drive but for general purpose it does OK.

well I have been looking at 2 in 1 laptops today funny enough,

http://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-X205TA-11-6-Inch-Notebook-Black/dp/B00R6BRR2A/ref=sr_1_2?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1433179692&sr=1-2&keywords=2+in+1+laptop+and+tablet

I work all over the country sometimes and stay in hotels so something small that can be used for movies and downloading mostly with a hdmi out is perfect. I just had a quick look at this but I want to do a bit more reading the 2 in 1 before I commit to anything.

Thank you for that, I was just looking at this one, http://www.ebuyer.com/660261-lenovo-thinkpad-e555-laptop-20dh000tuk  How do you think it would compare performance wise to yours?

It's Quad Core so in terms of processing power I'd expect it to perform a bit better but if it's for general use then it's a difference that probably wouldn't be that noticeable.

A quick pro and cons list (When compared to my one)

PROS:

Marginally better proceeding.

Bluetooth connectivity.

Optical drive.

CONS:

Will be considerably heavier.

HDD is half the size.
