Hey all,

Some quick notes on the events for this week:

  • To continue our commitment to our Battlefield audience, we're going to be holding two AJSA Xbox One community events for Battlefield: Hardline and Battlefield 4 later on this week. Officer Slade Bogaty and I will be co-hosting both of these events. Hope you can join us for some good, destructive fun.
  • The Overwatch: Year of the Rooster seasonal event starts today (1.24.2017). During our Overwatch event this Saturday night, we will be focusing on unlocking the seasonal items and playing through some of the new game modes together as a team.
  • We're rounding out the Sunday event series in January with Titanfall 2. This past Sunday we held a special Killer Instinct event (very fun!) so for those who are patiently waiting for us to gather for another Titanfall 2 event, this is your chance.

All event times and info are listed in the OP of this thread. Cya at the events,

Happy Monday everyone,

Hope you had a great weekend. Thank you to everyone who participated in the events last week. They were lots of fun! It is great to see us squad up everyday across a variety of games.  This week will be no different. You'll see our normal main titles in the schedule, like Battlefield and Overwatch, but you'll also see the return of both Minecraft and Killer Instinct!

Killer Instinct Season Two is still free with Games with Gold. For those who forgot to download the pack, you still have time before the offer expires. For Minecraft, it will be our first Minecraft Night of 2017. I hope you can join us in our new adventure we crafted specifically for the coming event.

The Year of the Rooster festivity on Overwatch is ongoing. We unlocked a ton of skins and items last Saturday when we banded together. For those who missed out, or want to grab any remaining items, join up with the Overwatch crew on Saturday night.

All remaining event info for any of the games not mentioned above can be found in the OP to this thread.

For those who are members of the AJSA Xbox Club, keep a look out for event "Club Parties". Anyone from the Club can view and join the party. This will make it easier for members to participate and join up in the events. Club Parties can be found under the "Looking for Group" section in the Club.

Thank you! Cya at the events,

- Rune

Hey all,

Thanks to everyone who came out to the events and group activities we had last week. Lots of fun, great times. For example, I really enjoy seeing all the hard work that is being done in Minecraft. Nice job to all those involved.

As a heads up that this week is the long awaited "Flashback Week of Events" is here in the Xbox One Division. All week long we're going to be holding a series of community events revolved around revisiting some older games/titles that we have not played in awhile/games that we no longer support. Starting tonight we're going to head back to Titanfall which will kick off the festivities for the week.

One of, if not the, central highlight of the Flashback Week is the introduction of our first ever Xbox One Backwards Compatible Event. This Saturday night we're going to be heading to Battlefield 3. BF3 is a multiplayer military FPS that was on the Xbox 360 (our previous console generation). I hope that the event itself goes well, as if it does it will open the doors for us to do more of these style of events. Down the line we could do events for GTA IV, Left for Dead, Bad Company 2 etc.

To install BF3 on your console, you will need the multiplayer disc of Battlefield 3. You can also check to see if the game is available through the Xbox Store. We'll all gather in the event party first then we'll figure out a server to go in and distribute the server name to all the participants.

We'll also be playing games like Halo: MCC, GTA Online, and more. During off-event hours, keep an eye out for Club party notices/invites. We may be playing some other older games that aren't featured on the schedule as well!

I hope you can join us for this week. It should be a lot of fun. Our normal schedule will return next week.

Thank you and cya out there at the events,

- Rune

Quick notes on the events coming up and a brief recap from the Flashback Week:

- Flashback Week: Thank you to everyone who came out and participated during our Flashback series of events we held last week. It was very fun and cool to head back to some of these older games and seeing our AJSA squads still kicking ass. To all who made the effort as well to re-install some of the games we played just so you could participate, thank you.

Our first ever Backwards Compatible Event was also a success. It went very well. We will have to do more of these in the near future for sure.

- Upcoming Events: Some notes of interest -

  • The Iron Banner on Destiny begins this Tuesday. The PvP game mode of the week will be the "Supremacy". It is a great match type to play with a squad and in my opinion one of the best PvP modes within the game. Additionally for those who've yet to complete their Supremacy quests this will be a great opportunity for you to knock those out and unlock some new gear.
  • At this Friday's Battlefield 1 event, we will be asking participants if they have the Premium Pass and/or are looking to get the upcoming "They Shall Not Pass" DLC. We will look to organize off-event hour squads with members who are interested in trying out the DLC with an AJSA squad down the road.
  • In case you missed it, please check out latest event announcement on "Wildlands". Slade made a post detailing what to expect from the Xbox team about future events and squad structure: http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/forums/topic/37943-ghost-recon-wildlands-event-announcement-xb1/

As always, you're free to contact me or any of the hosts if you require any assistance. Thank you all, cya at the events.

Hey all. Hope everyone had a great weekend.

I wanted to cover some notes about the upcoming events we have lined up this week. The main focus this week is the release of the last major content update for Destiny, "Age of Triumph". The content conveniently drops this Tuesday (the same day as our next Destiny event).

Notes

  • Destiny's "Age of Triumph" content update is being released this Tuesday (3.28.2017), the same day as our next scheduled Destiny event here in the Xbox One Division. We are prepared to meet all coming challenges that the new update will bring. Please take a moment to scan over our own Age of Triumph outline regarding future events and Raid activities: http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/forums/topic/38138-xb1-destiny-age-of-triumph-event-plans-raid-notes/
  • We're rounding out our Thursday event series with GTA Online. This community event is returning on 3.30.2017 with host RuneX.
  • Please note that official Minecraft events are going to be on break for April going into May. GTA Is temporarily taking the time slot for March. Our Thursday night game for April will be announced next week.
  • Our Chief Game Officer/Captain, Slade Bogaty, will be taking an extended leave from hosting to deal with some IRL issues. You will still see him on Xbox Live but all of his hosting and Point of Contact/Staff responsibilities will be transferred to me. Destiny events will continue under our Game Sergeant, MasterfulJoe, though Minecraft will on break as noted above. Thank you for understanding!
  • Our regularly scheduled BF1 and Overwatch events will occur on Friday and Saturday nights, respectively.

All event info is included in the OP of this thread. Don't hesitate to contact any of the hosts or myself if you have any questions regrding any of the events outlined.

Thank you!

Hey all. Hope you had a fun weekend. :)

I'm going to highlight some of about the upcoming events we have lined up this week, plus go over some notes and plans. Let's take a look:

Notes

  • This Sunday night we'll be re-introducing Rainbow Six: Siege as a community event as part of a greater Sunday event series we're introducing for the month of April. Each Sunday night there will be a new game featured in an event form. It'll be a great chance for us to experience some new and old games together as a team plus it allows us to mix it up a little without taking time away from our officially supported titles.
  • As they are community events, I want to make sure members who have suggestions to come forward to me about their ideas. If you have any games you'd like to be featured this month during our Sunday community event nights, don't hesitate to contact and coordinate with me on getting a game featured.
  • Last week's Age of Triumph launch event for Destiny was a big success. Lots of fun. This whole month we're continuing to focus on completing as much content from the latest content release as possible. Accomplishing the various quests in Age of Triumph can be done quicker and easier with a team, so be sure to make it out to an event and squad up to complete those missions!
  • Next Saturday [4.15.17] we will be holding a special Gears of War 4 event themed around 'Horde Mode'. With Wookie and I, we'll be leading AJSA squads to reach level 50 of Hode Mode and complete it.

All event info is included in the OP of this thread. Don't hesitate to contact any of the hosts or myself if you have any questions regarding any of the events outlined. Thank you and cya out there,

-Rune

How about titanfall 1? We had not have a event like that in a while and it's a community classic. Maybe we can bring that special game back?

Morning,

@AJSA Valkyrie - Titanfall is a good idea. Maybe we can make it work on a future Sunday this month. We won't be having any Sunday event this week due to Easter observance (and I will be unable to host due to an IRL commitment).

To everyone: my apologies on not updating the event calendar as I normally do on Monday afternoons. Very busy day yesterday so my regular routine was disrupted, however I have everything updated now. The lineup for the week will be light due to Good Friday and Easter observances (no event Friday and Sunday, respectively). This means no formal Battlefield 1 gathering this week, though I'm sure our Battlefield crew will find a way to squad up with each other irregardless.

Main highlights for the week include the continuation of both our Age of Triumph event series on Destiny and GTA Online. We'll be definitely be playing the latest game mode from the content update Rockstar is releasing for GTA Online this week.

To cap off the week we'll be heading to Gears of War 4 with a community event themed around 'Horde Mode'. Full details in the OP of this thread.

Hope you all had a great weekend (and Monday!). Thanks to all who made it out to the events last week. I especially liked how well our Rainbow Six: Siege event went. Have fun and good gaming. Cya at the events,

- Rune

Titanfall 2

  • We're going to run through all the new content in this mid-week Titanfall 2 event. Focus will be on multiplayer, though we'll still do our usual custom games to get everyone warmed up.

  • Aside from our regular shenanigans, we'll we tackling the GTA Online Bonus challenges and activities. We'll also do our traditional Slasher/Beast vs Slasher game modes during the event. As always, specific races/death matches etc are voted on by the event group after the end of every activity. Hope you can join the AGTA Crew this Thursday!
  • Anyone who participated in the GTA Online Bonus challenge last week during the event should receive a cash bonus the next time they log on this week.

Battlefield 1

Good morning everyone,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I want to say that I thought our Battlefield 1 'War on All Fronts' event we had this past Saturday was an astounding success. Lots of fun, lots of matches we played. I'm thankful for everyone who came out to our near 8 hour long event. Additionally our Destiny, GTA Online and Overwatch events also proved to be great last week. We accomplished a lot together as a community! Thank you for playing.

Here is an outline of the upcoming events:

Destiny

  • Iron Banner will officially end on Tuesday 5-16-2017, the same day as our event. We will recap, discuss, and show off gear and loot we collected during the Iron Banner festivities.
  • We will take members and complete various Weekly Activities, quests, and missions. The only activity we won't do will be the Raid. Raids as scheduled during off-event hours. Check out our guidebook on 'Age of Triumph' Raid group formations here.

GTA Online

  • I will keep a close eye on the weekly GTA Online Bonus announcement on the Rockstar Social Club website. If the bonus activity is something we can do as a group during the event, it will be incorporated into our event. As always you will see our traditional Slasher and Extraction game modes during the event. We'll also try out some more Land Grab and vehicle death matches!

Halo 5

  • This will be a special community event for Halo 5 hosted by AwakeningRager. We're taking Halo 5 out of retirement for a night of gaming in online and custom games.
  • We will be doing a mix of both online and custom game play. Depending on the response we receive from community members during this event, we will try and schedule more Halo oriented gatherings in the future.

Black Ops II

  • This is our next game featured as part of our XB1 Backwards Compat. event series. Xbox Live party communication and invites will be used as normal, though invites will be preformed within the Xbox 360 Dashboard. Participants who are not listed as 'Friends' of the host on the Xbox 360 will have to added to allow for proper invites to be sent.
  • Main focus will concern online multiplayer, though we will make a second squad for members who want to do 'Zombies' for the night.

Our Battlefield 1 and Overwatch events will be taking a one week break and will return next week. Any questions, let me know or reach out to any of the hosts outlined in the OP of this thread.

Thank you!

    • Crucible Playlist - Doubles [2v2]

GTA Online

  • My apologies again to anyone who was looking forward to last week's GTA Online event. An IRL obligation came up that I had to attend to and could not hold the event as planned. This week though we will make up for the lost time by making this event even more crazy and fun! Slasher, Juggernaut, Extraction, Tank Deathmatches, & more in store for this Thursday night. Don't miss out.

Battlefield 1

  • This will be our first formal Battlefield 1 event since our War on All Fronts community festivity. We will be focusing on Conquest throughout the night. Overwatch

  • We will be celebrating our One Year Event Anniversary for Overwatch on Xbox One. We launched support for Overwatch on May 27th, 2016 with our first event for the game and we've been going strong ever since. Thanks to the hard work of our Overwatch Officer, WookieJedi, and the amazing continued support by members, Overwatch has grown to one of our community's favorite games to play!
  • On top of all that, Overwatch will be Free to Play this coming weekend! Any and all members of the Angry Army on Xbox One who have never played Overwatch, this coming event is a perfect opportunity for you to experience the game and come celebrate with the community on this epic Anniversary event!

Any questions, reply below or reach out to any of the hosts outlined in the OP of this thread.

Hey all,

Hope everyone had a great weekend. Lots of fun at Halo: Reach last night!

Here is an outline what is in store for the week :

Killer Instinct

  • Killer Instinct will be our last game as part of our Free to Play Night series in June. Coincidentally, KI originally kicked off our new series back on June 7th. A community favorite, the game is returning to conclude our free to play lineup.
  • We'll place everyone into a lobby (limit is 8 players) and we'll take turns fighting each other.
  • No DLC or extra fighters needed to play.

Injustice 2

  • We're getting a double dose of fighting game events this week. Due to popular request, we're bringing Injustice 2 to event form. Join us this Thursday night as we gather to play this game. In a similar structure to Killer Instinct, we'll have an open lobby up for people to face off against each other.
  • We have a Guild on Injustice 2 for members of the AJSA on Xbox One. The Guild is coincidentally called 'Angry Army'.

Battlefield 1

  • As with last week, we will be focusing on playing together on the new map, Niville Nights, on various game modes to start off.
  • We will then split up into two parties and each party leader will be in charge of what their squad is doing.

Overwatch

  • We'll continue to play on the new map together and play in our normal custom games.
  • Our host and Officer, WookieJedi, will be showing off a new costom mode based off of 'Attack on Titan'. It should be fun!

Cya at the events,

Happy Monday!

The event lineup for this week has been updated. A couple notes:

  • Starting on Tuesday, we're doing a new event series for the month of July on Tuesday nights. Every Tuesday this month we'll be playing a different Xbox 360 game via Backward Compatibility. The great response and feedback received from our June 25th, 2017 Halo: Reach helped form this new series. Coincidentally we're kicking off the series with Reach this Tuesday night. Hope you can join us and play.
  • We're doing a special Gigantic event this Saturday night. Gigantic is a new free to play third person MOBA title on Xbox. It's a fun game, reminds me of a mix of SMITE and Overwatch. Details of event is included in the OP of this thread.
  • Another series we're doing in July is in the form of 'Old School events' on Sundays. Every week we feature a game from our past. We kicked off this series with Halo: Master Chief Collection last night and we'll continue on with Battlefield 4 on Sunday night. I know BF4 still remains fairly popular among our members, so I expect a good response from the old crew and new soldiers. Game on!

For days we don't have events on, remember to check the AJSA Xbox Club for any squad gathering notices or requests.

Have a great week everyone. Cya at the events,

- Rune

Greetings all!

The OP of this thread has been updated to show the event lineup for this week. A couple things to note:

  • We are concluding our Flashback and Old School event series with Call of Duty: Black Ops II and Titanfall 2, respectively. We thank everyone who participated and contributed towards those two particular series this month. It was a lot of fun visiting and playing these games with the Angry Army.
  • This Saturday we will be welcoming the arrival of Doomfist to the world of Overwatch on console. Hope you can join us and play as Doomfist during our wild custom games!
  • Sunday we will be featuring Titanfall 2. An added bonus is that TF2 will be Free to Play this weekend. For any AJSA members on Xbox who've never experienced the game and want to play in a group, the event is a perfect opportunity for you. Plus, veteran and new players will be able to play Frontier Defense once again. Frontier Defense is a co-op game mode where you and your squad battle several waves of ever increasing enemies. We'll definitely be trying this mode out on Sunday night.

Any questions, let me know. Otherwise cya at the events!

Hey everyone,

The event schedule for this week has been updated. We're kicking off August strong with the return of Destiny this Tuesday night and a special Rocket League event on the weekend. Plus we're heading back to Los Santos and will squad up once again for our Friday Night Battlefield festivities.

I want to thank everyone who have helped make July a great success. We really did great this month. So many games we played together. Lots of good gaming, plenty of adventure, and fun! We're not slowing down anytime soon. There is still another month of Summer to go and we plan to take full advantage of it. I hope you can continue to join us for this ride and squad up with the AJSA as we close out the Summer.

Aug. 1st to Aug. 5th - Event Notes

  • This Tuesday night we'll see the return of Destiny to our weekly event schedule here on Xbox. In July we took a month break to work on planning out the final chapter of our Destiny operations and focus on getting members playing together during the Destiny 2 beta. There will be no rest for us after our break as we're going back full swing with the Iron Banner and kicking off our final set of events for Destiny on Xbox on Tuesday night.
  • For our GTA Online enthusiasts, you'll be happy to hear that the AJSA Crew on Xbox is coming to Los Santos this Thursday night. We'll do plenty of races, death matches, and other activities to fill out the night. Earning a solid stack of money is guaranteed!
  • The Angry Army Platoon on Battlefield 1 will squad up once again this Friday night. If you're looking to find like-minded players who communicate in a squad, have fun, and play the objective, do consider hopping in with us on Friday as we play Conquest across a variety of maps.
  • We're taking a small break from Overwatch this weekend. Instead we are gearing up for a special community event for Rocket League this Saturday. More details are to come in an upcoming article for the frontpage of the forums. Stay tuned. It'll be worth the wait!

August Plans

  • As noted, Destiny is returning full swing in August. We're having Destiny events every Tuesday night this month. Keep watch on the forums for announcements concerning other Destiny related activities in the coming weeks.
  • Starting on August 9th, as part of our Wednesday Night event series this month, the Angry Army on Xbox is banding together to battle and defeat the 'Horde' on Gears of War. Beginning with Gears of War 4 (then Gears of War 3 and Gears of War 2) with something that has never been done, we are working our way down the series completing Horde Mode in each Gears of War game with a full AJSA squad. Then on the final Wednesday of the month we'll squad up and play custom games on the original Gears of War.
  • Also Starting on August 10th, as part of our Thursday Night event series, we're going back to Minecraft! For this month we're re-entering this community favorite game that many people have been patiently waiting to see it return in our event rotation. We're styling these Minecraft nights as casual and social gatherings in a Survival world where you build to build, interact with other community members, and relax. The world that will be used will be curated by me (Rune).
  • Friday will continue to remain as our day for our weekly Battlefield events. This month we'll be placing at least one Battlefield 4 event in the rotation. All other Friday nights will be focused on Battlefield 1 and preparing the Angry Army platoon for the upcoming Russian expansion pack. Please note on August 18th we will be taking a one week break.
  • Taking its place on August 18th, we will be showcasing our first ever Warframe event on Xbox One. Community members have spoken, and shown their keen interest, in relaunching support for the game. Keep watch on the forums for announcements and updates relating to this coming event.
  • Filled with action packed and hilarious custom games, every Saturday in August will feature our community favorite Overwatch events (apart from August 5th). Our Officer and host for Overwatch, WookieJedi, welcomes any and all ideas to form/create new custom game modes.

Any questions? Don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you all! Cya at the events,

- Rune
