The DogBlog - PC/NA guild and game news

2 posts in this topic

Soooooo,

Thought I would start a weekly blog on what is happening in the guild and game in general.  Have been thinking of doing this for a while and recent news within the game prompted me again to get a blog together.  This post will remain locked, however, there will be a link to an open page at the bottom of each blog for your comments.  It's not that I don't want to read your comments - quite the contrary, I love to hear from fellow guildies, I just want a clean archive of the blogs pinned.

DogBlog#1 - Introductions and update news.

For those who don't know me - I am Dog73, AJSA guild overseer and altaholic.  I have been in the game since beta, during which I was asked to join the AJSA in preparation of the game launch.  I really want to get the guild back to the stage we were at during launch with the huge PvP events.  For this I need your help fellow guildies.  We need to recruit active players and I would be more than happy if we have to start purging inactive players to fill the ranks.... Except Joe - he get's kinda narky if you boot him from hil own guild  :P

I have actually found an old screen shot of our guild taking on Cyrodill.... and the guy in front of me is actually Joe!!!!

So on to a bit of guild news.

In the guild:  We had our first PvP event in a loooong time and our first raffle last week, both of which were not too bad.  We had some participants in the raffle, but to build it up I put in a bunch of tickets and put up some prizes to get people involved.  Not quite as many as I wanted but it was a start and we made 50k for the guild which was a great start.

Anyone wanting to get in on the action of the raffle, all you need to do is deposit multiples of 1,000g in to the guild bank and you will be issued a ticket.  Drop 5k in one go and you will get a free ticket.  All details can be found at http://www.tinyurl.com/AJSA-ESO-raffle and click on the welcome tab at the bottom.

PvP was fun.  Thank you @DodgeHopper for your time and effort.  We only had a small group and after switching to a slightly quieter campaign so we could get better than 3 FPS, we managed to take on a few keeps and claim some resources.  Special mention as well to @catmando and @master for tagging along and bolstering the AJSA numbers.  I think I must owe @Master about 6 stacks of grand soul gems for all of his rezzing!!

Getting back to the way shrines, I even managed to get a chance to show off our guild tabard a little (can be purchased from the guild store for 2,000g) and I think it looks smart on the skinny naked argonian  :D (sorry for the res - I was in "Low" to get the best FPS I could)

ESO news:   It has finally been announced.  Since the game went B2P, we knew that ESO would be getting to announce "Paid for" DLC (DownLoadable Content).

To arms, citizens of Tamriel! Imperial City, the first official DLC game pack for The Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited, is on its way—it will be available on the PTS (PC/Mac) later this month, and launches on PC/Mac on August 31st, Xbox One on September 15th, and PlayStation®4 on September 16th.

Prices - free to ESO Plus (subbed) or 2500 crown coins .   £14.99 will buy you 3000 coins, sorry, do not know what that would be in $ but I am sure you can find out.

Although you will be able to level to VR16 without it as part of the standard patch, you will need to buy the upgrade or be subbed to access the new content

The full news on this can be found on the official ESO website

DogBlog #2 - Recruitment, PvP and evil malware

Sorry I have not been on the site that much for the past few weeks - have been battling a piece of malware that was being rather stubborn so I was waiting for my Win10 download to pop so I could get a clean install.

* Note to self - Never....EVER... download a piece of software for free that you would normally have to pay for... Ended up with "Cut the price" and it's foreign counterpart which I could remove but never find the pigging installer so it would just pop back again.

Well, it's off now and I have found a free "alternative" that does the job I need, so happy days!

So, on to Recruitment.  I will be going on a bit of a recruitment drive this weekend and would appreciate any help from fellow guildies so we can hit as many zones as possible.  I think that the only criteria at the moment would be "reasonably active" and "Not an idiot"  If you are member or above you can add a new player by pressing "G" in game, make sure you are in AJSA, click "Roster" on the top right and then "E" to add the player.

I want to get some more active PvP'ers in the guild so I am going to be concentrating in Cyrodill but also the starting zones and Elden Root with an aim to start seeing double figures of players online at the same time.  I will have to be careful in PvP as the group that I run with, although they may be aware that I am in other guilds, I am sure they do not know that I am GM for the AJSA and they may get a bit narked if they find out, so I am keeping it a bit quiet at the moment.

PvP  Well, we have had some uptake on the PvP over the past few weeks running with another guild which shall remain nameless for the time being.  It has been great fun and I have been picking up on quite a few tactics for successful offensive and defensive play.

I have now announced the AJSA home campaign as Haderus and guest is Azura's Star.  Events are on during the week, however the main events are on Saturday's at 11:00 PST / 13:00 CST / 14:00 EST / 19:00 GMT   Just ask Dog73 or DodgeHopper for more information on this.

I am also looking for more ideas on what you all want to do as a guild, so I have put a few ideas together and left it so you can add ideas.  Please add your ideas here: http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/topic/30298-what-do-you-want-to-do-as-a-guild/

Again, this post is locked to keep it clean, but you can post your thoughts on this here http://angryjoeshow.com/ajsa/topic/30300-dogblog-2-recruitment-pvp-and-evil-malware/?p=311379
