Battleborn

This looks like a pretty awesome FPS, from the creators of Borderlands.

What are your guys' thoughts on it? I'm seriously considering picking it up.

When they revealed the game and the release date I wanted to throw my money at them right then and there. It has the Borderland theme to it but it still has some originality towards it. For me I'm already in love with the character Phoebe (Sword). I'm curious how they're going to work to eliminate the feeling of repetitiveness though, considering you're only given 2 skills and an ultimate.

The minute it's available for PC I'm getting it. :)

This is one of the few games that I am going to buy right at launch, and I'll definitely be testing out the game's multiplayer capabilities. When it gets to that point I'd love to play this game with other members of the AJSA. :)

Saw Joe's stream of Blizzard's Overwatch the other day, and just randomly caught the Battleborn trailer on a youtube vid today. They look crazy similar. Animation, class / character system, gameplay, and even the loose bits of storyline I was able to pick up from the limited bits I saw. Having said that, I'd like to play them both.

It definitely looks wicked cool. And knowing Borderlands, it's going to be and looks really unique.

The release date of this game has been pushed back to May of 2016. Which is fine by me. Will give me some time to work through some of my massive Steam library. :)

I can kind of see how people think they look the same, but the gameplay is completely different, maybe not mechanically, but structurally. Overwatch is a class-based team shooter a la Team Fortress 2; Battleborn is a co-op vs. AI shooter, basically Halo missions with MOBA-style character progression and Borderlands classes. Overwatch doesn't really interest me, but I'll take a closer look at Battleborn once the game releases.

Greenman Gaming is doing a 25% off voucher for Battleborn, which puts the price down to $45.00. Considering all the hours I know I'll put into the game, $45.00 will be well worth it.

Here's the 25% off voucher code right from Greenman Gaming. Still works as of today...I think it will only expire when the game comes out in May:  GREENM-ANGAME-25PJAN

After playing last night till two in the morning with friends and forgetting that I had work...well that sold me on the game. Split screen couch COOP with more friends online is king. The beta is fairly awesome however there are some weird UI bugs, lots of texture pop ins, and a queue.

However even with all that, the game is fun. All the characters so far feel unique both in weapons, abilities, characteristics, etc. Surprisingly the game is also less spongy than Borderlands in terms of enemies. Also boss fights are way....WAY better than Borderland's bosses.

I played in the PS4 beta this past weekend and really enjoyed myself. My only concern is do I get this for PS4 or Xbox One or PC? I'm leaning PC because I will likely be able to play it more there whereas I share the consoles with my kids. Those of you that are picking it up, what system are you buying it on?

Hello everyone. I played the open beta on the PS4. Really awesome game. The one thing I find annoying is choosing your abilities over and over game after game.  Gets really annoying on competitive matches. Oh yeah, the melee characters are overpowered and seriously need to be nerfed at least for competitive gaming.

The loot system is reasonable but it's not the same as borderlands and choosing what gun you want etc doesn't exist. I guess it's like that so people don't get overpowered characters which makes sense.

Earning xp is fun but the missions are long. I mean, my first mission, I kept looking for a save point or anything. It seems like it's an hour easy per mission if your going solo.

My first game on any new game is always solo so I get feel for the game. Man this game is long but playable and super fun.

I'll be honest, this probably won't be as big as Borderlands. Borderlands 3 I'm waiting for as is everyone else and tiny tina better be there.

Hope this helps. Game on!

I am super-psyched for this game.

I have been playing the open beta, and I have my complaints:  certain characters, such as Phoebe, are WAY too OP. ISIC can get OP at times, but I'm going to play the devil's advocate here. Because I like playing as ISIC sooooo much.

The respawn timers I think are also too long. 30 seconds? At the very least, cut it in half. Make it 15 seconds.

Missions take 30 minutes if you're playing with 5 people.

And there are NO MICROTRANSACTIONS. Which I love. You can purchase things like loot packs with  in-game credits that you earn.

Love the beta, most likely gonna pick it up plus the season pass as well. However my only issues are that (may not be the games fault but I don't know) that I keep getting paired up with players who don't really know what they're doing while i'm facing stacked teams, but that's my only complaint so far.

It comes with learning the game, I think, AJSA_Wa1ker. And having synergy with the team that you're on. Which is why I would highly recommend playing with friends. :)

Yeah true. Considering it's a new game and such I should have expected people not to know what's going on. I did play the early alpha of it on Xbox and so a certain mentality carried over. However even on the losing team, getting all the kills and hearing my character just taunt like an ass still makes it fun

Played it last weekend with the Open Beta. This game blew me away! Just pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition via Kinguin. Decided to make some more Battleborn (music) videos also. This game got me HOOKED!

Im proberly one of the few that is not interested in this game, i played the open beta, and i didnt enjoy it. But thats just me. I love borderlands, but ive never been a fan of the MOBA games in general.

Its proberly a lot better when you have people to play with and friends you can group with, i didnt have that luxury when i was playing the beta.

its a good game, its just not my cup of tea :)
