Well...The elder scrolls games are quite good (Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim)

and you can get Arena and Daggerfall for free at http://www.elderscrolls.com/arena and http://www.elderscrolls.com/daggerfall/

Skyrim and Oblivion is the most modable of all the elder scrolls games

Oblivion: http://store.steampowered.com/app/900883/

Skyrim: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/28187/

The fallout series is also good, although they changed the gameplay at 3 and new vegas (which also are the most modable)

The classic: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/45615/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Fallout 3: http://store.steampowered.com/app/22370/

Fallout New Vegas: http://store.steampowered.com/app/2028016/?snr=1_7_15__13

Of course also Fallout 4 when it comes out: http://store.steampowered.com/app/377160/

Kingdoms of amalur: Reckoning might not be the best game, but it has a decent main story, at least 200 hours of gameplay and awesome combat

http://store.steampowered.com/app/102500/

Dark messiah: might and magic is a Stealth focused RPG. Sadly it has a few bugs here and there

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2100/

Vampire the masquerade:Bloodlines is also a bit unbalanced, but is a modern themed vampire RPG

http://store.steampowered.com/app/2600/

You could argue that Paper sorcerer is sort of a RPG.

http://store.steampowered.com/app/263560/

The witcher games are also good

Witcher 1: http://store.steampowered.com/app/20900/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Witcher 2: http://store.steampowered.com/app/20920/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Witcher 3: http://store.steampowered.com/app/292030/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Mount and blade games (besides Napoleonic wars ) are RPG's with a more "realistic" combat

Mount and blade: http://store.steampowered.com/app/22100/

Warband: http://store.steampowered.com/app/48700/

Viking conquest: http://store.steampowered.com/app/321300/'

With fire and sword: http://store.steampowered.com/app/48720/

Terraria is both a sandbox and a RPG

http://store.steampowered.com/app/105600/

And argueably Minecraft is aswell a sandbox RPG

https://minecraft.net/

Legend of grimrock is a dungeoncrawler RPG (if you like the first game, then check out the second game)

legend of grimrock 1: http://store.steampowered.com/app/207170/?snr=1_7_15__13

Legend of grimrock 2: http://store.steampowered.com/app/251730/

Torchlight 1 and 2 are Diablo styled RPG's

Torchlight 1: http://store.steampowered.com/app/41500/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Torchlight 2: http://store.steampowered.com/app/200710/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Speaking of diablo styled RPG's...Diablo  2 and 3 is good games (not sure where you can find 1 anymore)

Diablo 2 https://eu.battle.net/shop/en/product/diablo-ii and it's expansion pack https://eu.battle.net/shop/en/product/diablo-ii-lord-of-destruction

Diablo 3 https://eu.battle.net/shop/en/product/diablo-iii and it's expansion pack https://eu.battle.net/shop/en/product/diablo-iii-reaper-of-souls

inquisitor is a isometric RPG that also reminds a bit of Diablo

http://store.steampowered.com/app/241620/

Path of exile is also a diablo syle game, and it's free

http://store.steampowered.com/app/238960/

System shock 2 is a cyperpunk horror RPG

http://store.steampowered.com/app/238210/

Gothic 1 is an open world classic RPG

Gothic 2 is also an open world classic RPG

Gothic 3 is also an open world classic RPG

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/6375/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Gothic ArcaniA is most likely connected to the Gothic games, but are different in gameplay

http://store.steampowered.com/app/39690/

Divine divinity

Beyond divinity

and divinity 2 is all old school rpg's

http://store.steampowered.com/sub/17798/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

You could argue that deux ex is an RPG

http://store.steampowered.com/app/6910/

Neo scavenger is a post apocalyptic turn based rougelike rpg

http://store.steampowered.com/app/248860/?snr=1_7_15__13

Blood knights is a hack and slash rpg

http://store.steampowered.com/app/258220/?snr=1_7_15__13

The cursed crusade is also a hack and slash rpg, you need to have a controller in order to play this

http://store.steampowered.com/app/106000/

Fable: the lost chapters is awesome, stay away from the anniversary edition, take the original instead

http://store.steampowered.com/app/204030/

You could argue that the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are somewhat of a RPG

Shadow of chernobyl http://store.steampowered.com/app/4500/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Clear sky http://store.steampowered.com/app/20510/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

Call of pripyat http://store.steampowered.com/app/41700/?snr=1_7_7_151_150_1

And that's what i could find right now

Sorry if some of them arent RPG's but i just looked around and found something, because the term "RPG" is quite big and covers alot of different games.

Let me give my two cents after seeing everyone's list.

Wastelands 2: Sequel to Wasteland, amazing post apocalyptic squad rpg. Inspired the Fallout series.

Divinity Original Sin: One of the best PC RPGs to date, so much content, strategy combat that uses elements of the enviroment, so much flexibility on how to solve puzzles and problems.

Aarkrash Legacy: Tactical Fantasy RPG, great gameplay.

Blackguards 1 & 2: Strategy fantasy RPG. Interesting concept, solid gameplay, good story.

Pillars of Eternity: Great story, good combat, good puzzles, upcoming expansion.

Dragon Age Origins: One of the best RPGs in my opinion, fantastic story, variety of storytelling based on the race of your character, great combat, flexible role building, amazingly written, amazing characters.

The PC ports of those 2 games are pretty bad from what I hear.

Dark Souls 1 is a pretty bad pc port, but ever since it became Steamworks it's gotten a lot better.

Dark Souls 2 on the other hand is one of the most well optimized pc games I've ever seen in my life.

Any way you still need a ps3/xbox/Ds4/other gamepad to play it, atleast dks1. Dks2 is 'okay' with keyboard, I can say first hand that I've killed other players with my keyboard before. (My xbox controller often crapped out while playing so I had to improvise a lot.)

Also, Max, max, max... Putting Skyrim over Morrowind is Blasphemy. I am joking, although I hope those aren't in order! :P

And I 2nd Kingdoms of Amalur, I loved that game. Really enjoyable, with good character building/variety. Sub-par character customization but It gets the job done.

---EDIT---

Oh, and boy I was going to Recommend Dragons Dogma but I realise now it's not on PC... Bummer, that game is absolutely AMAZING.

Darkest Dungeon looks really good too,  however it is early access. "Darkest dungeon is a challenging gothic roguelike turn-based RPG about the psychological stresses of adventuring."

If you want something that is semi-rpg and more on the humor then I could recommend Overlord and Overlord 2, fairly dark humor. Overlord 2 was better but 1 is still interesting but far more linear.

Specify what you want in an rpg. Story, battle complexity, setting, choice diversity?

Some people like different things in rpgs. I will try to give you a more precise recommendation to your tastes once I know them.

I am playing Witcher 3 right now.
After purchasing it on sale from Steam during American Thanksgiving sale (Along with the Hearts of Stone DLC, it was $40.00CDN. A GREAT deal IMO).
I have to say that I am damned impressed.
The scale of development in this game by CD Projekt Red definitely makes it one of the top games of this year.
I'm only level 6 at this point, and between the combat and story: There is no tearing me away from this wonderful game.
It has managed to tear me away from Skyrim (Which I have modded to the hilt). And this is a good thing. As I have played through it so many times as to be beyond counting.
