Borderlands Movie Announced

So, its official: Borderlands is getting a movie. The studio behind it is Lionsgate, and the producers are Avi and Ari Arad. And for the first time possibly ever, I'm genuinely worried and slightly pissed at the choices of studio and producer, given that these are the same people who brought us Twilight and Ghost Rider. Say it with me: FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK!

To pick that studio and those producers for this project is bug shagging crazy, what were they thinking?!.... Actully this might work...

Oh so we're using Psycho logic now? In that case...

If I POUND all these MEAT PUPPETS into TASTY LITTLE CHUNKS, then I will ABSORB THEIR STRENGTH and I WILL BE ETERNAL!!! :P

Seriously though even if it has a chance at being not-crappy, I still won't watch it. The only madman who could do Borderlands justice is George Miller.

I don't know if i'm more scared of the idea that they are making a Borderlands movie, or the fact that they are making a Naruto movie too.

I think Naruto movie will be more horrifying, yes definetly.

Game movies don't  usually end well so i don't have any high hopes for this to be honest, but they might surprise me, we'll see.

Borderlands' humor will translate well to screen, and Lionsgate would be a good studio to go with to allow more... off-color humor. I can get behind this.

I dunno. Nicholas Cage in Ghost Rider shows they'll be able to get the Psychos down.

That said... A Borderlands movie? That seems dicey. I'm also kinda worried that they'll go the route of the Borderlands comics and try and make the whole thing overly serious and dramatic.

The Borderlands comics are serious? I never saw them as being overly dramatic, especially when characters say stuff like "SLEDGE IS POWERFUL DESPITE HIS CRIPPLING GLAUCOMA!!! SLEDGE TALKS IN THIRD PERSON AS IF NARRATING HIS LIFE STORY!!! WHO AMONG YOU IS BRAVE ENOUGH TO FIGHT SLEDGE!?

I'm not getting my hopes up. I'm just going to assume it'll be another hollywood snooze fest that's all action and no story. Expect the worst from hollywood, that way you're never dissapointed.

Oh, they are way different from the tone of the games. In the first volume, Fall of Fyrestone, we get...

1) The revelation that Claptrap's sense of humor and love of dancing comes from a woman he used to greet visitors with who is now in a coma from bandit attacks.

2) Ninetoes treated as some symbolic being of madness and chaos created by the search for the Vault.

3) T.K. Baha's wife being killed by a skag treated as horrible tragedy and hunting the skag as a quest for vegeance.

I. Am not. Kidding.

Those aren't bad things as Comedy pairs with Tragedy.
