What kind of video card?

4 posts in this topic

I'm using GTX 560 and while this is an old card it's on the recommended for this game. However I get 30-36 FPS on the lowest settigns. I have no problem playing on low visuals. But my card and my CPU are used around 50% from the game. I know Arma is not the most optimized game but this looks pretty dim.

The CPU type does not seems to matter that much as well, since I see tests with i7 with my Video card that result in the same poor FPS.

What are you guys using to play your Arma 3 game?

I know people who play Arma and they normally have homemade gaming rigs. Arma is the kind of game that you need a high-end or custom-built PC because of how much there is (at least from what I've been told). I don't really know anything about what the requirements are because I just game on a stock Toshiba Satellite and avoid heavy games like Arma III but I do know that a video card alone isn't going to run the game smoothly - you're gonna want to check other things in your PC and make sure everything is up to date or at least strong enough to run something like Arma III on medium+ resolution.

I don't really play ARMA 3 but the 560 is pretty old, I'm actually a little surprised it can run ARMA 3 at all.  The only realistic way round this is to get some newer hardware, it doesn't necessarily need to be top dollar.

You should be able to build a rig with these key components for around €400-€500 if not less and this will be more than enough to play on high:

CPU:       AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz 6-Core Processor

Memory: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1333 Memory

GPU:      EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card

:) I see well don't warry guys. First of all Arma 3 is also not a verry new game more like from 2 years ago. Second I would never buy gtx X50 they are the lowest for games. And last I already told you Arma is not that CPU of a game anything like i3 and above does not change the fps. So yea it is about the GPU :) I'm just surprise that my hardware is used at 50 % from this game alone and it only reaches 30 fps. Ofc I can buy 960 and play it with no trouble with the awsom 40- 50 fps at ultra... That is actually pretty bad results for a game.
