Killzone

Worst games you have played

69 posts in this topic

For the most part, I think it's hated because people think it didn't innovate enough- sure, on the surface it looks practically identical to Modern Warfare. But, its perk system recieved a serious overhaul (which I agree is way better than any other CoD perk systems), it had much better level design than any other CoD at the time, and Squads which was fucking awesome. About the only point I disagree with you on is the nerfed Killstreaks- I found the game to be much more fun when I wasn't constantly being blasted with airstrikes and mauled by dogs.

I agree with the killstreaks. I just see why some people had complaints about them. Hell, Maniac was fun as all hell

I just think it was dreadful in a series that clearly showed its age at that point

If it is worst games I've played this year, I'll start with these 3:

Batman: Arkham Knight

  • Uninspired story
  • Lazy boss fights
  • Arkham Knight was poorly written
  • Can't make a game in the series without having the Joker
  • The Bat Tank is pathetic
  • (although beautiful) Boring open world
  • Repetative nature to the side objectives (especially the puzzles)

Call of Duty: Black Ops III

  • The plot tries to be clever, but just poorly copy-pastes the first Black Ops narrative
  • Shoehorned romance
  • It lacks a decent villain
  • Given the name "Black Ops", but it doesn't feel anything like the previous "Black Ops" games
  • Customizable protagonist is pointless
  • Abilities/enhancements feel too gimmicky
  • Poor AI
  • Majority of Set Pieces (which CoD usually delivers on) is mostly uninteresting

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain (shocking right?!?)

  • Missing content/story
  • Uninteresting story
  • Each mission starts with "Starring...." ruins the surprise
  • Plot twist was already figured out and obvious, thanks to how the game was marketed/hyped over the space of the past 3 years
  • Ocelot wasn't Ocelot at all!
  • The helicopter rides in and out of locations (especially on motherbase)
  • The use of tapes to deliver key story elements
  • Lack of boss battles.........in a Metal Gear game!!!
  • Skull Face
  • The locations lack life and are uninteresting
  • Mother Base in general has no actual significance
  • Konami's involvement overall.....MB Coins? really?
  • The best missions in MGSV wasn't in The Phantom Pain at all, but was in the game...*ahem*...demo; Ground Zeroes
  • 3 Mission types; Destroy "X", Capture "X" or Kill "X"... but every Kill "X" mission, you can just Capture "X" instead.......so 2 Mission types
  • Collecting animals? Why?

I'm not saying that I didn't have any fun with these games, they still have something fun about them, such as Batman: AK, I still enjoy the melee combat mechanics and animations, and the fact the you're f**king BATMAN!!! CoD: BlOps 3 has evolved its multiplayer in the right direction with the choices of specialists and their abilities, the movement system always keeping you on the move while keeping its tight control scheme, it's nothing original, but it all works well together.........also the zombies is fun. And MGS V, fun moment to moment gameplay, the stealth is fantastic, the customization is awesome, the soundtrack and sound design is great, the little KojiPro details we expect are back yet again, I never get tired of the running punch!!!

For all these are decent titles, they are the ones that disappointed me the most this year, as the cons outweighed the pros........at least in my opinion anyway!

I will sort of disagree for both batman and metal gear but to be honest they could have made it easier for new people to under stand the convoluted world of metal gear solid 5 also multiplayer of any nature in that game was dreadful just the worst if i was to qute something i said a month ago its this "First what the hell did  gamespot play when they were previewing this game? Because looks like babys first multiplayer, its just well i hate to be blunt but its bad, matchmaking is incredibly slow takes way to long to find a game on ps4, not enough tutorials, modes are sometimes confusing i dont know what i am doing, the multiplayer is fun but the fact there are not tutorials really pisses me off, also when you get knocked out a button prompt comes up telling me how to get up only problem is i will waggle that stick and nothing happens while in single player it does work and finally once your in a match there is no way to leave the match without shutting down the app, the game is fun but it needs some serious work

Also spawns and mapsize are a problem where do the big maps come into play?

And finally i waited a month for this for shame konami" .and for batman arkahm knight is really god damn obvious but i like how they set it up and yes joker is here again but they did it very creatively with the scarecrow fear toxin. also wtf batman with dlc is was expecting great things but wtf lol have done my god. just a little question why red this part of text "In my opinion" i understand why but i dont know you do what you feel you have to do

On the internet, some people have tendencies to attack other peoples opinions because it doesn't fall in line with their own, so I was just clarifying that this is my own opinion.

Worst game: Battlefront 2015 - PC Beta

When: A couple of weeks ago?

The game looked good enough, sure, but it was simply not my kind of game. Not surprised though, I'm not that much into arena shooters or shooters in general anymore.

I have played so many games its a hard choice but the worst are as followed....

  •  Watch Dogs it was way over hyped and didnt live up to the expectations at all, the story was so boring and was the typical revenge mission, the character Aiden Pearce was bland and didnt have a personality, and worst of all it was a hacking game with no hacking. so bad (for me) BleedingChaos23 had to finish it for me.

  • Assassin's Creed Unity dont even need to explain why.

  • Thief (2014) It started out good but got so repetitive and story was dull, stealth was not the best for a stealth game but the swoop mechanic was fun, not much room for alternate paths, characters wasnt very interresting and load screens took longer then it would for me to complete the actual game.

  • Destiny the shooting mechanic was ace (one of the best) and the art style was a beauty, but the story (or lack of) was crap and made no sense, on the missions there was too much defend while dinkly bot hacks certain places, took too long to grind for certain items.

  • Walking Dead survival instinct  although playing as daryl dixon and his badass crossbow (when you finally get it) was ace at first, but after an hour or two it got very dull and repetitive, the locations wasnt very big and was linear, not many side quest and the side quest you do have was the typical go get this item for me, crossbow was the only decent weapon and even though voiced by the actors from the tv series it still sounds really bad.

there just a few games that i found bad but others may like them,i am not meaning to offend anyone and there opinions.

So many of these 'worst game ever's are actually good games that are simply ragged on for being overhyped. Do people play First person shooters for the story? Not very often.

I thought E.T. was more infamny than actual badness, but it at least was bad.

When it come to Destiny then, yes. We did buy it expecting a great story and we got let down. Now, I hate the game for that, as much as anyone in fact, but it's hardly worthy of a worst game ever title with such great looks, gunplay and fun enemies to fight.

The game I absolutely hated the most....

Crackdown 2

Let's just to start Crackdown 2 was so bad, that the new Crackdown game is literally just a remake of the first game. The second game basically never happened. And the ones who made it... later go off to help make Star Wars Kinect.

Anyways. So the game has you literally do one thing over and over and over.

Find generator. Defend generator against 3-4 waves of mutants. Done.

You do this SEVEN+ TIMES!

Then after that, the final boss fight! What is it?

Defend a BIGGER generator against 3-4 waves of mutants. Then done!

The map is a the same as the first game just trashier. The cool upgrade system was gutted so upgrading stuff doesn't have as much cool changes to the look.

There's a human group that's against you but they're so unimportant you forget they're there.

The game forgets the whole "Hey yeah the guys you're working for is ACTUALLY THE BAD GUYS!" and they try to play it off despite Crackdown 2's ending saying once more "Ha ha ha! The good guys were actually the bad guys!" Like "OH NO REALLY?! I had NooOOOooo idea."

And the co-op gets boring after an hour. Drift cars into zombies. Done.

And that ENDING! THAT ENDING! So you made this super awesome agent. Powerful. Guns ho. Rocket launchers. And then in the ending... the leader of that human group shows up in a helicopter! Oh no!

You attack her... by jumping off the agency tower, using a tiny smg instead of one of the other guns you have... and fly RIGHT INTO THE HELICOPTER BLADES and get torn to pieces.... then the helicopter has some engine trouble and it spins around off screen. No boom.

I'm serious. Look.

Your character commited SUICIDE basically. Didn't want to be around in that franchise anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe APB: Reloaded is (pay-to-win) and therefore does not deserve my money or anyone's money. And I agree that when you had to buy Defiance at retail price it was great and fun but when it became f2p they made it all about microtransactions. For god's sake you even have to spend real money to replenish grenades or wait and hope you get lucky to find grenades in the world.

Had to try walking dead survivor instinct and regretted every second. Journey wasn't a bad game but I was expecting more from the rave reviews and I was let down.

Yeesh, was wondering why people didn't like Crackdown 2 and how it was different from the first one. What you said makes me glad that my copy remains unopened.

I have played games like Ride to Hell, Rambo 2014, Guise of the Wolf and Drake of the 99 Dragons.

And these games are nowhere close to being the worst games of all time.

There exists games from the deepest depths of hell, games that are equal to being stabbed by 10 metal syringes to your head, that after playing these, you will become mentally retarded for 1 week, and never be the same again.

Stay away from these abominations at all costs:

House of 1,000 Doors: Palm of Zoroaster

12 is Better than 6

Rogue Warrior

Ubik (PS1)

Prison Break

The Shield (based on the tv show)

Limbo of the Lost

Crazy Bus

Desert Bus

And of course,

Oh GGAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUHHHHH. Fuck these games.

But I have to be thankful. If it weren't for these games, I may never have the hyper resistance to bad games like Ride to Hell like I have now, and they make me appreciate games that has effort and potential put into them, no matter how small. Because having potential and charm in a game is better than having NONE of those.

Do game developers ever stop and think? would I play this game if I was a consumer?

They probably do, but then think "If I don't keep doing what the publisher wants, I'll be out of a job." Then, if the game doesn't sell well, publisher closes them down and they're out on the street anyway.
