Chivalry: Medieval Warfare on Xbox One

17 posts in this topic

SO Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is finally coming out for Xbox One on December 2nd.  Currently it is available for preorder for $20 CAD or $30 CAD for the bundle that includes all the weapon/skin pack dlc.  The bundle is normally priced at $52 CAD, so it's a pretty significant discount.  Is anyone else thinking of getting this game?  Would be pretty cool to get a group going for it

If you don't know what the game is, Chivalry is a 12 vs 12 medieval combat game that uses fairly realistic and complex melee combat, archery, and siege weaponry to create chaotic battles.  I was going to use this to tide me over until For Honor comes out.

If I weren't dirt poor and hadn't gotten it a long time ago on the PC I'd definitely get it on Xbox. Maybe in January.

Chivalry is a 12 vs 12 medieval combat

Did they limit the number of players?

After playing several hours of this game, I absolutely love it. The controls feel great, combat is intense, and teamwork (even just a partner) is extremely helpful if you get caught fighting multiple enemies.

My only problems with the game are the occasional visual bug with the stamina bar (if your near some cover and hit block, it shows your stamina bar go to 0 but you still have the stamina for swings and blocks. Fixed by swinging your weapon once), the game crashed on me 2 times in 8 hours of gameplay, and the game does not allow recording or screenshots which the developers will be patched in soon.

The only other problem is that in order to get in the same game and on the same team as your friends, 1 person needs to join a game in progress, hope there is room in seever for friends, invite friends to server, and hope there is enough room on the team for friends. Really lame that theres no "party" system that puts you all in the same game automatically and assigns you to a team.

For $20 I highly recommend this game if you enjoy medieval combat in 1st/3rd person, enjoy tactical melee duels with different types of attacks, timed parrying, feints, and many weapon types each with their own damage, speed, and reach stats

I bought it, and the gameplay is just utterly disappointing to me. It doesn't look, or feel like a current gen game.

and i thought it was just 20 dollars regularly, which would be okay. but 52 dollars for this? no thanks. Glad i got it cheap. that being said, if anyone wanted to play horde mode (the only real good thing about the game personally) my GT is CivicTurtle3456

Its 52 for the bundle with all dlc but you can get the base game by itself for $20. Its also a port of a game originally made for PC a couple years ago so its not going to be the best looking game but I feel the graphics are good enough for what it is.

As for gameplay, what about it don't you like? My friends and I have a blast every time we play it

Idk it feels like playing as ranged is pointless as aiming with a controller is impossible when the hit has to be so precise, and it's impossible to defend when people charge you with just the little knife or sword you get. And just the whole thing feels too clunky, there's lag on most servers i join and for some reason i cannot seem to hit anyone unless its with a large sweeping weapon. Maybe i'm just bad at the game, but it just feels bad. I played the mod that this game came from and it was so much better.

The game is still in the marketplace, yep if that is what you're asking. The sale on the "Ultimate Edition" should still be up too if you fancy character skins etc.
