***UPDATE!***

September's games were announced last week and looks like a pretty decent lineup. The month starts with racing fever, offering Forza 5 (Do you say For-Za or Fort-sa? I've heard there's contention on how it's pronounced by racing game fans... Anyways...) for XB1 and Hydro Thunder Hurricane for XB360/BC. Second half of Sept offers Oxenfree, a supernatural thriller with an interesting "thought bubble" mechanic to progress the story and several endings to keep you busy, on XB1 as well as the classic Battlefield 3 for XB360/BC; and if I know our commander, he's already planning a BF3 event ;)

I had the Super Edition of BF3 many moons ago but foolishly traded it in...glad to see I'll be getting it back minus the "Edition".

I'm hoping that they'll surprise us and just give the Battlefield 3 DLC away for free.

High hopes but I can dream.

That would be ideal since it's technically an obsolete game. I wonder if my real purchase saved to my gamertag, it may be possible when I download the Gold version it will still acknowledge that I redeemed all the extra features from the Deluxe Uber Mega Edition.

From my understanding, if that content was digital...it should be available to download under your Games and Apps > Manage Game for Battlefield 3.

No it was on disc and if I remember correctly before I got my Xbox1. If I'm not mistaken there was redemption codes for all the extra content I had to enter...I'm pretty sure the system didn't recognize the special edition disc and unlock the content for me.

Battlefield 3 has been a blast so far. So much fun revisiting that game.

It is open to download now until the end of the month. Don't forget to make sure to grab it before it goes away!

Hey guys! Sorry I was slacking a bit on the GwG this month; I've had a lot of stuff going on, so I wasn't able to get posting it.... But better late than never, and there's still a few days to get the 1st game before it's gone on Oct 15.

Games with Gold starting tomorrow, November 1st, with Trackmania Turbo and NiGHTS into dreams. Trackmania Turbo is an arcade racer that offers both Online multiplayer (Description says 1-100?!?) AND Couch co-op and multiplayer for up to 4 players. NiGHTS into Dreams is a remake of a Sega Saturn classic platforming/adventure-ish type game that looks awesome w/ upgraded graphics.

Second half of the month brings us Tales from the Borderlands (The Complete 1st season; Episodes 1-5) which continues into the world of Pandora with a point and click, occasional button clicking/quicktime event game.... There really is NO genre assigned to TellTale games is there?  I mean, if you don't know what a TellTale game is by now, I don't know how to explain it to you... (;)) Deadfall Adventures is an action/adventure game that follows a descendant of Allan Quatermain (He's the guy played by Sean Connery in League of Extraordinary Gentleman, as well as a protagonist of several novels) and boasts several game modes, including Singleplayer campaign, and multiple multiplayer modes: Classic Deathmatch/Team Deathmatch (12 players) Treasure Hunt Mode (2 teams – Max 6 players per team) Co-op Survival Mode (4 players)

I tried that Trackmania game the other night... Its pretty basic, but could be fun to race multiplayer because the tracks are kinda cool, especially the rollercoaster looking ones.

**UPDATE**

DRqbli-W0AI-w28.jpg

The Games with Gold for January have been announced;  The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III, Zombi, Tomb Raider Underworld and Army of Two.

The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing III is actually a new release for Xbox One (It has been out on PC for 2 years). It looks to be an action RPG with a style similar to Diablo, with different classes to choose and an isometric view. Zombi is a survival horror game (duh?) where the stakes are high because death is permanent; there's no respawn and you lose all your possessions. You can play as different survivors and try to work your way back to your previous corpse to get them back if you dare. Tomb Raider Underworld is a standard action/adventure game that has you searching to uncover the mystery surrounding Thor's Hammer. Army of Two has you completing missions to improve your weapons to travel the world to confront a conspiracy that threatens everything. You can go it alone with an AI companion or join with a friend to complete your missions.

**UPDATE!**

February's Games with Gold seem to have a very single player focus, since the only multiplayer offering is Split/Second. Shadow Warrior is a first person shooter type game that incorporates swords and magic into the traditional gunplay, with varied weapons (from stylish revolvers and quad barrel shotguns to explosive-tipped crossbow bolts and laser-guided rocket launchers as well as a legendary katana) there's sure to be something for everyone in this action packed adventure. Split/Second is an intense arcade racing game set within the universe of a mega-budget, prime-time reality TV show. Contestants race to be the 1st across the finish line in a made-for-TV city built for destruction, with the ultimate goal of becoming the season champion. There is multiplayer available for up to 8 racers to get together and avoid the explosions to win it all.

AC:Chronicles India is a 2.5D stealth game that has you avoiding guards, climbing walls and zip-lining through levels to get to your assassin's targets.  Last, but definitely not least, the extremely fun Crazy Taxi. Speed through the streets, ramping, jumping and flipping your way to Crazy Combos to earn that Crazy Money!

**UPDATE**

DWfZdiqW4AE9f1D.jpg

March's Games with Gold have been announced, and it's certainly an interesting mix of games. First up are Trials of the Blood Dragon and BraveTrials of the Blood Dragon is a mixture of the gameplay of the Trials series and the aesthetic of Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. The game will have you drive, shoot, swing, tame and travel through different environments; and in addition to the familiar motorcycles of the Trials series, you'll also be riding BMX, an 8-wheel tank, Turbo Flip R/C, a jetpack and a mine cart. There may also be on-foot sections, which is a departure from the Trials series regular riding gameplay. Brave was originally a Kinect title, so it will be interesting to see how it was adapted for Backwards Compatibility. Its an action game that has you play as Merida, a Will ‘o the Wisp and other popular characters from the film, as you run, jump and battle your way through the rugged landscape of mythical Scotland trying to change your fate. The original game had both online and offline co-op, so we will see if that is still part of it as BC.

The second half of the month brings SUPERHOT and Quantum ConundrumSUPERHOT is a popular game that started out on Kickstarter that has a wild take on the FPS genre; time only moves when you do and you plan your way through your enemies as you hack/slash/stab/shoot them in beautiful slow motion. The unique stylized graphics really help you to appreciate the fluidity of the game and the oddly beautiful movement of fights. Quantum Conundrum is an action/adventure puzzle game that has you trying to rescue your uncle after he has disappeared since inventing an inter-dimensional transporter; You'll be shifting between five different dimensions in real time and to work your way through his crazy complex mansion.

**UPDATE**

DZYk13GX4AAVSSc.jpg

April's Games with Gold have been announced, and it looks to be a pretty good lineup. The first half of the month offers The Witness, a first person puzzle and adventure oriented game developed by Thelca Inc, headed by Jonathan Blow, the creator of acclaimed puzzle game Braid, and Cars 2: The Video Game where players train to become an agent of C.H.R.O.M.E. (Command Headquarters for Recon Operations & Motorized Espionage) and take on dangerous missions, compete to become the fastest racecar in the world, or use your spy skills in exciting, action-packed combat racing; It also offers 1-4 player offline multiplayer for those of us who enjoy couch co-op or have a  youngin' in our lives that might appreciate it. The second half of the month gives Assassin's Creed Syndicate, which is set in Victorian era London and follows twin assassins Jacob and Evie Frye as they navigate the corridors of organized crime, and take back the city from Templar control, and Dead Space 2, the sequel to the critically acclaimed Dead Space; you return as Issac Clarke having recently awoken from a coma to find yourself immersed in another nightmare, battling dementia, hunted by the government, and haunted by visions of his dead girlfriend.

Thank you for the update Psyko. The thread has been updated.

My overall thoughts....

I'm looking forward to try out this 'Witness' game. I'm really surprised to see AC: Syndicate on there. I may finally get to beat it now! I'd be willing to investigate Cars 2 to see what sort of online multiplayer it has....lol....Cars 2 event anyone?????

**UPDATE**

080066.jpg

So This is not technically **OFFICIAL** yet because it hasn't been posted by Major Nelson, but someone posted a video to the official Xbox YouTube recently announcing these games. Odds are this is the list; however, there hasn't been confirmation just yet. If for some reason it is different when Maj Nelson posts, I will make another update ;)

So if this THE  list for May, it does look to be a good one.  First up is Super Mega Baseball 2, which is a new release that is going directly on GwG (Must like the last Van Helsing game a few months back) The sequel to the popular indie baseball sim will be adding new features including multiplayer, extensive team and league customization. Along with SMB2 will be backwards compatible Streets of Rage, the classic Sega/Arcade beat em' up. The second half of May offers Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, which really needs no introduction;  The action-stealth game mixes an open world with a structured mission format, encouraging players to experiment with their gameplay to progress while also delivering a classic AAA Kojima story. And lastly, Vanquish is a sci-fi shooter with a fast, fluid combat system. The game received a positive critical reaction upon release, with critics praising the game's fast-paced action, innovations to the shooter genre, boss battles and visual style, while criticizing the game's writing, voice acting and overall short length of the campaign.

GWG_JUNE_2018-hero.jpg

So, apparently the "leaked" games from last week ended up being the real GwG releases. First up is for Xbox One Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia, which continues the Chronicles games like China and India before it, and Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed available with Backwards Compatible or Xbox 360. Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed features 20 legendary All-Stars each with their own transformable vehicle and different racing modes including Grand Prix, Battle Arenas and the incredible World Tour.

The second half of the month features SMITE: Gold Bundle for Xbox and LEGO Indiana Jones 2 for 360/Backwards Compatible.  Now, I know what you're saying... "SMITE is already a free game! What a ripoff!" But to be fair, this is not the game itself; It's an add-on bundle of Gods and cosmetic items which apparently normally sells for $99! I can't *find* it on the XBox store to verify that, but in my search have found that playstation gave something like this away w/ their pspro free games program (which is basically like GwG) last year, and it included 20 gods, announcer packs, skins and gems. We'll have to wait until the 16th to find out about this pack unless I can find something sooner. Just be aware, this IS NOT the "Ultimate Gods Bundle" that gives you all the new Gods as they are released forever; it is JUST a set of them for a one time deal. LEGO Indiana Jones 2 gives you a chance to play new levels from Indy's original adventures (Raiders of the Lost Ark, Temple of Doom and The Last Crusade) as well as levels based off of Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (Yay? I mean, it's an ok movie, but ugh Shia LeBeouf and UUUGGGGHHHH the monkey scene.. anyway I digress...) You can also create your own levels to play with friends.

Hey guys! I have been super busy (I've gotten a new job and been working full time again!) so I won't be able to do a full write up like I have been (Sorry :( )
