Dear Angry Joe: Please help the Gamers Community for what Square Enix is doing to their Final Fantasy. They are now adding Always-Online DRM to punish their Legal Consumers and encouraging Piracy! We need your help!! They might continue doing this for their Final Fantasy XV if it ever comes to PC and Final Fantasy VII Remake.

FFVI has and always online policy? That's not as aggravating as it is just plain weird. Roms for this game have been floating around for years that are based on the original code and not the version on steam that's actully a port of the ios version making most pirated roms of this game very different to the one on steam, so I don't even really see DRM doing much to help this time around.

The thing is, you're a steam user on PC, so you'll have it connected anyway, so whilst I do see this perticular DRM as being kinda pointless for Square Enix to implement, it doesn't really hurt people that much either. There's bigger things wrong with gaming right now.

The AJSA is not a place to contact Joe, sending him a message on twitter is likely the only way he might see something that you send him.

The thread he linked is for Lightning Returns.

Well Lightning returns was the 1st Final Fantasy with the always Online DRM then Final Fantasy VI got hit by it. He didnt seem to create the same thread or duplicate about it but this looks so in detailed

Well almost all games on Steam have some degree of always online DRM, it's the trade of with it being a (usually) cheaper digital only platform.

Also I've played the PC port of Lighting Returns and trust me... The DRM is the least of it's problems!
