Battlefield 5

17 posts in this topic

What is this game going to be? I heard the rumors saying that they are going back to World War II roots but in the same gameplay as Battlefield 4 and Hardline compared to 1942. If not, it's a futuristic version of World War II with Humvees and F-35s from Battlefield 3 and 4.

Probably a near future scenario. Not that interested im afraid.

For me DICE and EA hit a bad note with Battlefield 3 and have just got worse and worse with increasingly stupid (to now non-existent) campaigns and ludicrous monetization. Frankly I'd rather just sit back and watch it bury itself which it almost certainly will.

Even though I dislike Battlefield 3 and 4 my gaming roots started with this series (first fps was BF:1942) so I am hopeful and I really could use a good WW2 fps right now something like Red Orchestra 2 but less realistic would be fun.

If it is going to take place in the future I am all for it as long as they leave jet packs out of it and exo suits >.<

I think I'm ready for them to give WWI, WW2, and Vietnam a rest. They always at some point repeatedly keep going back to them. It would be alright if there was some span between them, but they keep them rolling out like the all you can eat pancakes and Ihop. And I don't mean just for battlefield. I feel many games are going through the same trend movies are. We can't think of anything else so lets revision something we've already done or have seen done.

Give me Battlefield: Colonial now that would be interesting to see how you make that work. Heck, I'll even take a Battlefield: Mars. Well... not so much Mars, everyone always goes there to. Lets make it Battlefield: Avatar. Go fight in another galaxy for the expansion of the human race taking out large blue cat people...minus the copyright infringement. Guess we'll set it for the planet next to it.

what is going to be?

well a mediocre, overhyped, boring shooting gallery that will kill itself in no time. Seems like it's so hard for them to make Battlefield like BF2 and 2142 without broken netcode, bugs, cheatfest etc. they don't even include full mod Support which made Battlefield big (Desert combat etc.) and not to mention LAN mode which many used in big Parties and events.

If they put in an AI Skirmish mode like the Instant Action for SWB that EA's been holding off on for two months now, then I might buy it when they release the Complete Edition of the game a year so after it launches. Because honestly, fighting against an all-bots force in multiplayer holds my attention for way longer than shit excuses for campaigns that EA produces.

I'm so tired of modern or near-future FPS games. Either go back to the past or go further into the future where you can be a bit more creative with stuff

My favorite BF series end at BF2142. They should remake that one but probably won't because of Titanfall. I also liked BF2 because of the mod support. (project reality was born from here?) I have ZERO interest into BF3 and after because no mod support and I have to pay for those overpriced DLC. And once the next BF game is out, nobody will play the previous one because of it.

It's going to cost 59.99$ trial edition and 120$ full + 60$ season pass.

Also there are going to be tokens that you can buy for money to be able to respown.

It's going to be a blast.

I think Battlefield 5 needs to be a continuation of Bad Company 2; that is Battlefield 5 would actually be Bad Company 3. That game has it all, good campaign, great multiplayer, and worthy DLC. Dice continue to that they wont make BC3 because they dont know what made BC2 so good (really?). Battlefield has become slightly mundane to me and I'm sure to many others, predominantly because of how similar BF3 and BF4 were to each other and the state of BF4 when it was released. Dice and EA need to think very carefully about this next Battlefeild. They cant do another modern shooter as they oversaturated that era of warfare and I dont think they will do futuristic because Call of Duty has all but a stranglehold on futuristic shooters and I dont think they want to compete with Call of Duty (even though BF is better). I believe they will either continue with the long awaited Bad Company storyline or go for a older era, such as Vietnam or WWII (there hasn't been a "good" WWII in a while and is the first game BF made in BF 1942, nice to return to their roots eventually). All in all, BF5 will be a test for Dice and EA after the disappointing release of BF4 and the shocking copy and paste that it is compared to BF3 with slighty better graphics and guns... oh and 5 people in squads which is interesting with 16/32/64 servers since all of these numbers are divisible by 4 and not by 5, meaning that in a full game in BF3 everyone is in a full squad and in BF4 there will be people left out (really?... again?).

Battlefield 3, Bad Company 2 were my personal favourites. Battlefield 4 however isn't as good but I still have a lot of fun. I really really hope DICE use the power of the FrostBite Engine to create an awesome historically accurate BattleField World War 2 game. Nothing sounds as awesome like storming the beach at Normady with 63 players by my side taking on 64 well dug in Germans lol
