Another well made video, excellent work.

 

Doing my playthrough as well, I'm 15 missions in. Huge improvement on the first game, still a lot of glitches with animations, environment, clipping, etc. The Sectoids and Vipers have really terrible AI, with the Sectoids ignoring easy kills to mess around with their psi powers and Vipers being more dangerous if they miss their grab attack and actually do something useful like poison you on their second action. More varied enemies, your classes feel more balanced, more customization, and weapon and armor options. Much better options outside of combat, great not messing around gaming the system with satellites or only being able to go on one of three missions. The characters seem a lot better but the idea behind the story seems like a really poor one and so far the Avatar project just seems more like an annoyance. The "terror" missions seem to be better done, though I did fail one when the aliens were going out of their way to kill multiple civilians a turn even while they were in a fight with me, which seems both cheap and like poor AI design. Mimic Beacons, pretty OP.

I've found the AI to be pretty good so far, I've had alien mechs do some pretty outrageous flanking maneuvers! It's a shame they haven't sorted out the clipping camera issues from the first game. Pathfinding is borked sometimes too, but you can set waypoints with CTRL (the game never tells you this though!)

 

Got another 8 hours of footage to edit this week though before I can play some more :P

Good to know, I didn't think they added that feature.

 

I've found the AI to be pretty good so far

Bad priorities is more the issue I have. A Viper who is able to poison half or more of the team should do that instead of trying to pull someone and do two damage to them and a wounded Sectoid in the open might as well shoot or terror someone instead of bringing a dead body back.

I know it's a pipe dream and probably impossible to balance but I'd love a PvP campaign at some point! :)
