Bethesda has three new "big and crazy" projects in the works

14 posts in this topic

“We actually have three kind of longer term projects we’re doing that are all—we’ll talk about them at a future date—but they’re different than anything we’ve done before, while also being a Bethesda-style game,” he said, as reported by VG247. “Big and crazy, but in many ways different than things we’ve done before. It’s an exciting time.” - Todd Howard

Your thoughts on this?

I wonder if one of the projects is Elder Scrolls? However he said it's big and crazy projects and different than anything they've done before, so it could be something else or just changing the entire game and adding new features in.

Hopefully it's TES, with a new engine and maybe some new mechanics.

They going to have an E3 conference this year, so I expect information on these projects there. What the projects could be? They could make a new engine. There have been rumours that Beth is making a open world Space game, but no official information about that has been released, but it's possible. ESVI is always possibility since the ES community is demanding a new game in the main series. There could possibly a new IP since there has been a demand for that.

If they make another TES im either not interested at all or very interested depending on if they make the combat actually decent.

Guys it's obviously more Preston Garvey quests. :P

Oh yeah...

Instead of telling us to help other settlements, this DLC will be about helping Preston Garvey gather information on finding even more settlements that need our help. Holy crap, how did I miss that...

God damn it Todd!

Let's be honest, no matter how good the story is in TES games, we all end up spending 200h picking cabage, lockpicking and exploring random crap.

Ok, need to go over this way for my next quest--OH, SHINY DUNGEON MARKER!

Would be sweet if one of them was an open world Star Wars game. I'd love to see what Bethesda could do with that.

..... Yeah yeah I know. **** EA, but I can dream.

One may be a new Elder Scrolls but I'm not even sure of that considering fallout 4 was only released 4 months ago.  So I predict:

1: A new Elder Scrolls, but not this year.

2: Dishonored 2, which will be revealed at E3.  (This one is not a mystery though).

3. A new IP, which will come out either Q4 2016 or Q1/2 2017.

4. That leaves one more and honestly I have no fucking idea!  I can't think of any other gaps that Bethesda needs to fill here, could be an expansion on a existing game, a sequel, another new IP but I honestly can't guess.

There's also the possibility of a new engine.

Possibility? I would be pissed if they used the Creation engine again, because come on we've had the shitty Gamebryo engine used in one way or another for the past nine years in their open world games. Time for a brand new engine for heaven's sake, not something based on the engine used for Oblivion. Just for the sake of fewer bugs and glitches..
