Imagine the Perfect Game

18 posts in this topic

Everyone has their own imagination of a perfect game in every aspect, but I am curious to see what you have to say about you idea of the perfect title. What would it be like? What genre would it be? What are the gameplay mechanics you would focus on expressing?

A game where you can.......

Ok on all seriousness the type of game I would love to see is pirate game where you can command and fully customize your own fleet of ships.  With ship to ship and ground combat a bit like Assassins Creed Black Flag but gone further with smuggling, recruiting crew annd gathering resources across a global map I think would be awesome.

I'm not even THAT big of a Harry Potter Fan but I think a true RPG set in the J.K. Rowling's World has immense potential. Create your own student (full customization of facial features) and the decisions you make will effect your experiences. Maybe something similar to a Withcer, Mass Effect or Dragons Age decision engine. Use a class method where time is a factor each day and in order to become more efficient in a class you must spend time going to it- similar to a Final Fantasy Type-0 method. You could choose to forego class and head to the Quidditch pitch and represent your house. Now the issue would be the leveling system as far as conflicts. Overusing magical creatures such as previous titles would make for a broken story arc in my opinion yet the use of just attending classes to improve a skill that you won't use very often seems pointless. Allow the users character to interact with key figures within each house (Harry, Cedric, Cho, Malfoy...etc) as well as the heads of each house. The story could progress over one school year and allow you to be a part of the events that seem to happen each year. Make the castle have secret passages only accessible by having access to certain abilities from a school of magic. Making you want to replay it over and over and try different classes to discover all that Hogwarts has to offer.

Doesn't get any better than

Though it'll be great if platinum games have the opportunity to create a metroid title.

Well, for me, it'd be a game where you can play in First person, third person or on a global scale  (like a RTS) at will. The perfect game, that has shooting, role playing, strategy, good story, engaging, replay value, and is mature enough to show its color's, graphics, lots of gameplay mechanics, micromanagement, comprehensive AI, optimized game, Freedom, duels, sci-fi setting. all slapped into one title.

I like that, could work as an MMO as well.

Well yeah.... but a bit more serious.  Sort of like this meets Star Citizen.

I have played and fell in love with the perfect game, no other game will ever come close to perfection in my honest opinion.

They say you can't improve perfection, but TaleWorlds says otherwise.

A hack and slash character action game made by Konami Suda51 and Platinum together.

Think Overlord 2 but perhaps a more serious game, still with great humor but serious evil as well. I just want a game where the good guy doesn't win against impossible odds but where the bad guy wins. And you are that bad guy.

I wouldnt say the perfect gamr would be a particular genre so much as each genre would have their perfect game.

i don't have an imagination of a perfect game and i hope that no game will be perfect ever. Because there wouldn't be nothing to aspire to, nothing to improve, nothing to enhance or to expand. It will be the end line. It should just be getting better and better till infinity but never reach perfection.

The perfect game is the next hyped up game yet to be released where your imagination of it can far exceed reality. :P

Hmm I didn't think of it as a MMO initially in my head because I still can't fully wrap my mind around a fighting system. Older games overused those magical creatures to the point that they were an annoyance and the dueling clubs were always laughable. Spells didn't serve the function they were intended for- I am looking at you Expelliarmus. Keeping with the MMO idea though, maybe if you treated each house as a seperate faction where you have a different experience in the castle dependent upon which house you choose?
