Help me occupy my free time

20 posts in this topic

So since I started university something rather odd hit me. I've noticed that I have a lot of free time. Way too much if you would ask me. And while I do have courses to attend to from time to time and stuff to learn, I still have too much time on my hands that most of the time I'm wasting(video games dont count).

So I need to find a new activity to practice(preferably learning something) during this free time so that I won't go crazy. I was thinking about stuff like learning to code, or learning another language; I don't know. Thats why I am asking you guys to help me find something to do with my free time.

Go out and socilize gjn81wvxqsq6yzcwubok.png

Kappa aside, I'm gonna get into learning codes too. I'm pretty busy but what free time I have, I don't like to spend it only on video games since I don't play anything atm except League. Only problem is, I don't know any good websites to start off with and I'm not talking about those bullshit blogs, but some serious stuff. I know one that my bro showed me, but I can't find it anymore.

Also try out some other shit if you are into it, like Photoshop or video editing, 3D modelling, animation. I don't know what interests you.

At first I wanted to say ''get into anime'' as a joke, but then I realised if you really did do that, you'd then have some motivation to start learning Japanese, which would fill out your condition of ''learning something'', so... I guess that? >.>

If you want to get into coding I recommend CodeAcademy. I did some courses on there, they make it fairly simple to grasp.

Does coding/photoshop/3d modelling require you to know math?

Im studying law for a reason after all(for those who didnt get it, I suck at math).

If you are studying Law then learning another language might be the best option.  At some point you might have an opportunity to do a semester in another country so why not plan ahead.  I'd talk to your lecturer about it, see what he thinks.

Depending on how much time you have a part-time job might help, earning a little extra cash ain't a bad thing.

If you're studying law I'd recommend socializing, create a network. Some people you're studying with may have connections that might help you after law school. If you're going to start a hobby or work part time, don't do something that will require a lot of time or dedication. After the first year things will get more hectic, and I can guarantee you that you will have a lot less free time then what you have now.

There are no part time jobs here, otherwise I would've had one already.

I'd keep looking but your priority is your studies, if your really itching for something to do then go to the library, break out your books and get some extra work done.

Like he said you not going to have all this free time forever so whether it's learning a language, a part time job or even an extra curricular activity such as a club, a sport or whatever you need to get into the routine of a full 40-50 hours a week of doing something productive.

Whenever you have free time and you dont know what to do, you cant decide or youre just simply bored, you should go and work out. Doesnt matter if youre skinny, fit or a fatass, building your body up is important. So, how about signing up for that gym? Going for a walk or hitting your local park for a run? Moving your furniture around and working out to some program like Insanity online? Theres soo many different options for people of all walks of life. Just even for one hour a day so that you can do other stuff, remember, 1 hour a day is only 4% of it, its doable men.

Consider working out OP if you dont already. I will note that staying active and working out are 2 different things though.

I cannot work out. Literally. My GP forbid it, because I might end up in the hospital again.

Read books (for example im currently reading "Ready Player One")

Draw something

write something

make videos of something

Watch porn and then masturbate (or during, your choice)

Make some sort of cake (Minecraft cake for instance)

Hunt for achievements in games (recommend listen to some sort of podcast, for example RT podcast or cooptional podcast)

Simply hanging out with friends and see what they spend their free time with can start you on your own free time occupation/hobby

Play boardgames, either simple or advanced boardgames are fun

Donate blood (might not take alot of time, but hey you donated blood, so thumbs up for you :) )

I don't think finding the books you'll need for future courses will be all that hard to find. Try to find a why to prepare yourself for the shitstorm that's looming ahead. You don't necessarily have to study all that junk beforehand. Just make it a thing to own the books beforehand so you won't be shit out of luck when they sell out. Also, find out where to get them cheap as well. I recommend checking the books section on craigslist. From my viewpoint, there always seem to be a college book in there.

I would suggest you catch up on all the latest shows your friends keep telling you are amazing but turn out to be either really fucking amazing or meh.

On that topic there's Game of Thrones; a fantasy series adapted from George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire book series which tells the tales of many warring factions vying for dominance over the continent of Westeros where most of the series takes place and it features plenty of Murder, Mystery and Boobs (Courtesy of HBO) to keep their primary demographic entertained.

Vikings tells a similar story albeit on a much smaller and historical-ish scale focusing on Ragnar Lodbrok and his path to becoming one of the most feared Vikings of Legend. Throughout you'll see plenty of carnage and mayhem and also some boobs here and there (Courtesy of History Channel) as he brings fame and fortune to his name.

Finally there's the Walking Dead but I wouldn't recommend that unless you like zombies being the zombiest of zombies they possibly can be without ever being called zombies.

Why? Whats wrong? Because I just told you, theres so many different options for people of all walks of life. For example, is whats wrong stopping you from power walking at the very least?
