Dawn of War III - Announcement

I'm really excited for this. Sad to see that we might only get three factions, although it could mean that only three will be in the campaign with the way they phrased it, but regardless it looks and sounds promising. I'm not against the art style we saw in the screenshots, although it could be a little bit more dirty to go along with the setting of the universe. I love that we're getting bases and large armies back, a big plus in my book.

My only fear with the game is the limited amount of factions I mentioned. I sure hope they won't bombard us with faction DLCs, like what Total War: Warhammer is doing with Chaos...

EDIT: Oh, and if my excitement isn't clear enough, lets just say I'll need to do some apologising for spamming people on Steam and Facebook. :D

I don't mind them going to three factions so long as it means we're getting fuller rosters. There's a lot of stuff been added since DoW2 to all three factions that I'd like to see in action

They probably have Faction DLCs or Expansion in the future. Because of that I'm probably buy it when they have Complete Edition.

Good time to be a Warhammer fan (Fantasy and 40K), video game wise at least.

(P.S. Anyone know how to get the video to show up? I can't remember...)

All you should have to do is paste the link.

Cheers. It works now :)

Yeah, it's a great time for fans, especially with the reopening of Specialist Games by GW

I really like Dawn of War 1 & 2. Unfortunately I never finished the campaigns. Beat Space Marine though.

I would love to see Dawn of War 3 having a mix of RTS gameplay and Space Marine's combat. So half RTS, half action game. Most likely it will never happen, but I can still dream about it!

I'd love this one to be a blend between the two styles. I like the strategy behind DoW2 but Warhammer is about the huge wars more than the skirmishes.

I do wonder if my poor computer will cope though, poor gal needs an upgrade

Originally thought my friend was trolling me until I saw the trailer and now I'm pretty excited.  Graphics look a little cartoony but hopefully they are placeholder textures.  I'm also pretty sure Chaos will be in the game but not playable in the campaign.  I mean, thousands of bodies falling into a huge pile that looks to be in some sort of shrine or well seems kinda chaos-y.  I'm also glad Gabriel Angelos is back as he's just a boss.

I've read somewhere that some of the unit textures we saw in the screenshots are either placeholders or WIP, so we can still hope for a more gritty/dirty DoW3. It could also be that they just turned the contrast up on the pictures to make things stand out a bit more for people to observe, since that's all we got from them.

I hope they never get rid of Angelos. He is just awesome, and he is rocking that new Termi armour. From this, presumably the Space Marine ending to Retri is canon and he is the Chapter Master of Blood Ravens now. If so, this has to be some conflict for him to deploy personally

I would  be pretty hyped. But when I saw a commander jumping around in a terminator suit I died inside xD.

I've heard it said the the older style of Armour he's wearing gives much better agility than the modern suits, though I still don't think it'd give him the abilities of an Assault Marine.

I guess it's just another case of "because it's cool" for Warhammer 40K

This is one of the few things that bug me aswell. Hell, even the graphics don't bother me too much, but the movement of some units... Would be nice if the devs notice the responses of people and change it. Probably not going to happen, though. They'd have to animate him from scratch (I think?).
