Stellaris

Xcom 2

Battlefleet Armada

Ashes of the Singularity

Dreadnought

Total War Warhammer.

And now CIV VI. This is a good year for strategy games.

In addition, there's Hearts of Iron 4 and an expansion for Europa Universalis 4 in the grand strategy genre.

I do hope they add new features though, or at least better interactions with the other leaders.

but why are they using the Settlers 7 cartoonish graphics for Civ 6? I mean it's not bad but it looks "unusual" for a Civ Game.

I'm amused that they blurred out part of the image of the French Revolution while talking about defiance.

Isn't Dreadnought more of a slower paced action game? Battle Brothers is one to add to that if it releases this year.

A lot of salt on the Steam discussion forum for this game, namely complaining about the art style.

Standard Internet business, see something you don't like, post a million comments about how you don't like it and wait for people to jump on the bandwagon.

To be honest I can totally understand why people are upset by this, I personally think that innovation and evolution of game series is essential, but mainly in the mechanics department. For example Diablo 3, I grew up with Diablo 2, and I loved the style, the atmosphere, the gritty-ness, dark colors, omnious and awesome creepy guitar tunes as you explored, which D3 traded for more symphony-like songs and more colorful art-style. Did I enjoy D3? Sure, but I think with that sequel the game lost a bit of itself, of It's ''soul'' if you will, It's not ''bad'' per se, It just didn't feel like Diablo.

With that said I also don't exactly like the entitled assholes who want every game to conform to every little, tiny preference they could have.

Comparing Civ to Diablo is a rather unfair comparison if you ask me. Civ doesn't have a specific tone or atmosphere, the closest thing you have to that is the different soundtracks and architecture styles, each designed to fit the civilization that you play as, the cartoonish art style does not prevent them from having that. I can understand if people don't like the art style, not everyone likes these sorts colourful, cartoonish art styles, but endlessly complaining just makes you sound like you just want have a something a complain about.

I love the look of this game, and sounds really good. However, the 49.99GBP price tag on steam is really off-putting. Talk about milking the money from the license.

I love civ 5 and got all the expansions, but i waited for a sale or price drop to get it, as hardly anyone i know play these games, never experienced multiplayer CIV 5, so i got bored even with mods after quite a few hours spent.

It looks good, i just hope theres no 49.99 season pass or something like that following that huge pricetag.
