Serious Question, ANGRY FRIENDS - Uncharted Fans!! Your advice (anyone)

For all Nathan Drake Fans please give me a direction.

i played the Nathan Drake Collection Demo, first time to the franchise...so friggin awesome!

Would you recommend I buy the ND Collection for the ps4 BEFORE buying Uncharted 4, or just go straight for the new title?

It was so awesome but i don't know if it would be better (or not) knowing the backstory and history first, or does UC4 just stand alone?

Thanks Angry Friends.

-noob to the franchise, but experienced gamer.

There are allot of characters and references to the other games in Uncharted 4 but I wouldn't go so far as to say you have to know everything to still enjoy it.  So playing the Nathan Drake Collection first is certainly preferable but not essential.

Of course if want to play the multiplayer in Uncharted 4 then it's better to jump on it earlier.

I'm new to the series like you, and I recently finished Drake's Fortune and I'm halfway through the second one and I gotta say, I'm glad I'm playing the trilogy before Uncharted 4. Uncharted 2 is awesome so far and I'm emotionally invested in the cast. Plus, I love shooting motherfuckers in the face with shotguns (in video games). Awesome gunplay. That being said, the first game is dated compared to the second, and you're going to wonder how you're being attacked by twenty dudes with machine guns in locations supposedly untouched by man for hundreds of years. And there are generators and lights in these "untouched" areas. Starting the second Uncharted after just beating the first is like stepping out of a time machine into a futuristic city of glass.

All of that being said...play the trilogy.

Done.  And now I can't put it down.   Gonna be a rough day at work today.   Drakes fortune is cool looking, very linear.  But I rocked 4 straight hours last night/this morning and can't wait to keep on.     Thank you!   This was a great decision.
