As if the new Ghosbusters movie wasn't misguided enough...

I mean... wow.

Clearly this has had no effort put into it at all. Even Actvision can't be bothered to promote this thing properly.

I actually just stumbled across his on the XBox Webstie (Checking some release dates) and they're actually doing a bundle for the game and the movie!

The webpage I snipped this from.

And you know what, you can tell that XBox aren't interested either as the pre-order link doesn't even work.

This one of these things that makes me think, why did they even bother? I mean the movie looks terrible and is getting so much criticism before it's even out, this game is cheep joke and even the new Ghostbusters theme song is pure, audible cancer;

I've never seen a franchise reboot get so much consistently wrong! What is happening here?

I absolutely love all the comments on the song ''Am I the only one that likes it?'' ''Seriously, am I really the only one?''. As if this comment wasn't cancerous enough it seems to me like it got incredibly popular lately, I mean ''Am I the only one that hasn't watched Star Wars? LOL! '' became the new black!

I haven't watched any of the Ghostbusters movies, but I feel for the fans. When I was in a crowded Cinema for Warcraft I got to watch the full Trailer and I was actually alarmed and disturbed that people actually laughed at those ''jokes''.:unsureoj:

OH MY GOD!!!!  It's like Busted's Thunderbirds if it was desperately drowned out by Skrillex.  It is totally unbearable!

They should have used Leo's

Game looks better than the last one, maybe like a 3/10 worthy instead of a 2/10.

The amazing thing is the trailers for the original movies were even worse, and kind of spoiled the movie in the first ones case. Then what they did to the animated series. People marketing Ghostbusters have clearly always hated the franchise.

What's the thing with Spoilers in the Trailers? I mean seriously just recently Batman V Superman's Trailer was basically a 3 minute version of the movie, also TMNT: Out of The Shadows? I mean It's just common sense, If you want hype for your Product you mix 'n' match parts, leave room for theories some mystery and sublety, I won't be hyped for a movie which I felt I've already seen? Well alright to be honest I was hyped for BvS but that's cause I'm a huge DC fan.

And that's not the only thing, I remember I read a topic, It was most likely yours, about Lionhead Studios. How the Microsoft marketing team didn't let them put a... black woman? On their Cover, I'm sorry I don't remember fully, but they actually thought It would impact sales. Am I putting too much faith in people? Could the team be right on that? Can a game's cover impact sales? Atleast somewhat significantly? Coincidentally I shared that with a friend who is studying Marketing in University, and he defended them... '' Well between two games I'd buy the one with a better Cover...'' :plznojoe:

That's interesting to bring up for Ghostbusters as the marketing for the first film tried to hide that Ernie Hudson was even in it, or at least that he was one of the stars, and rewrote his character to have a smaller part without telling him after he was cast.

Quote

'For me it was a real adjustment because the studio kept making decisions that did not include me. So it was hard for me psychologically to stay positive.

The character was gone. Instead of coming in at the very beginning of the movie, like page 8, the character came in on page 68 after the Ghostbusters were established. His elaborate background was all gone, replaced by me walking in and saying, “If there’s a steady paycheck in it, I’ll believe anything you say.” So that was pretty devastating.

'It’s only been in the last 15 years that I’ve actually started to relax and embrace the whole Ghostbuster idea because basically when the movie came out – I wasn’t on the poster, I wasn’t in the trailer.

When different people took over the production of the animated series they wanted to remove the overweight character and the black guy (Ray and Winston) and only didn't because the writers threatened to quit (ones like J. Michael Straczynski did shortly anyway as they no longer wanted anything to do with it), instead they just had Winston be the driver. They also wanted any personality taken away from Janine and made her into an overly emotional mother figure because they thought children didn't like her acting any other way. Which brings me back to people handling marketing seem to have always hated Ghostbusters, people working on it, and the fans in some cases.

Yeah, but out of like 7+ games that was the only good one. It's definitely not a franchise known for maintaining quality when it comes to any area really (film, TV, video games, board games).

I've been trying to be reasonably positive about the new movie and I'm willing to wait for the reviews before I go to the theater.

That being said... This shit is stupid. The game doesn't even feature the characters frm the new movie or the old ones. What the hell is the point of making a tie-in game that isn't even really a tie in?!

And that song... Oh, that bloody song... I din't think anything could rival Limp Bizkit's shit version of the Mission: Impossible theme, but that might actually be worse.
