Help with literature

6 posts in this topic

So a friend of mine is writing a novel, I think it's a sci-fi cyberpunk type of novel. Anyway, so far he wrote 3 chapters, but he is afraid to go on further without getting some feedback on it. HE needs someone's help with knowledge and experience with literature and decent grammar to read it through and give him feedback and tips on how he is doing so far.

Quoting him, "Because for instance, I have written 3 chapters so far, but I get the feeling that my way of putting phrases and paragraphs is a bit simplistic so to say. Not artistic enough like you usually find in a book."

So if anyone is willing to give him a hand, reply here and I'll PM you the details plus the link to his novel.

Best of luck to him!

I thought that too after my first couple chapters.

100K + words, 40 some odd chapters, and about 6 rewrites later I'm still dreading sending it to an editor before I self-publish my own action adventure novel.

I'd be glad to help him out as well.

Considering I just spent 6 hours killing raiders in the wasteland with a mini chainsaw while Black Flag's "My War" was blasting in the background; I think I'm the most qualified one here to help with anything Cyberpunk-related.

Besides, I love Sci-Fi novels =P

I'm quite new to the cyberpunk genre (I've written only 2 short stories), but as far as I know, its main feature is to show the collapse of the future, when it's getting worse before it gets better in the end. I write gothic and horror mostly, but I think that such topics as malicious AI in cyberpunk can be ok too.
