Twitch TV punching Youtube in face because f*** YT

7 posts in this topic

Anyway, with all fucks ups Youtube does month after month, Twitch took the opportunity to slap YT in the face

Twitch takes on YouTube, allows uploads of pre-recorded content

Now yeah, Twitch will never overttake Youtube in many ways, but in the end, it might turn out to be more worthwhile to upload gaming stuff to Twitch since they have no retarded rules and policies and much, much less ID content bullshit cops.

The new system is simply called Twitch upload and is still in beta. It basically allows anyone to upload edited videos of whatever, similar to YouTube, whatever the format. These uploads don’t have expiration dates, unlike stream archives.

This is not a threat to YT at all, but it's good to see Twitch doing this imo.

As long as Twitch has that ban list of games, I think Youtube will always have a place. Can't have channels like Eroge Randomness (won't link for obvious reasons) on Twitch. Also, one of the streamers I watch actually had to stream HuniePop, Yandere Simulator and such on Youtube because of said banlist.

But yeah, this should get Youtube a run for its money.

In its current form... There's no way it's even close to competing. But hopefully they iron some things out and make it a better system overall.

Twitch has the backing of Amazon.  If Twitch seriously wanted to take on YT, they will.

Twitch has a lot of work if they plan on taking YT fully. YT focuses on all content and many huge corporations from all industries use it plus it has more features. However they can compete on the gaming content, if they wish so and take on YT directly on that front
