Hideo Kojima, you're officially God now. Death Stranding trailer shows mind blowing shit!

So Game Awards 2016 just happened, and Kojima received a well deserved Industry Icon Award.

 

But as if that isn't great already, Kojima decided to release a new trailer for Death Stranding. AND OMGOMGOMGOMG!

 

 

IT'S GUILLERMO DEL TORO!!! AND FUCKING HANNIBAL LECTER!!! Or you know, the bad guy from Dr Strange and Casino Royale but OH, MY, FUCKING, GOD. MY MIND JUST FUCKING EXPLODED!

 

This is...... byoutiful. We still don't know what the hell this game is going to be but what a way to reveal your new game, at an award show no less! And what a way to say a hearthy fuck you to Konami for last year and for cancelling Silent Hills. Kojima, Guillermo and Daryl are together again, and now we have Hannibal joining in the pack. The world is now whole again. I cannot fucking wait for this game.

So I will say what I have already discussed with some of my friends.

I think that the trailer is weak and if that wasn't Kojima nobody would give a damn.

I'm starting to wonder if they haven't given him too much freedom and money and he tries to check how far he can go.

I'm guessing that the next trailer will be similar because the story is flat as a pancake.

I might be wrong, and I'd love to be wrong but I'm afraid that we will have to wait for E3 2017 to verify that.

I'd say that the trailer is intriguing but It's not exactly blowing my head of.  We still know next to nothing about this game so I'm not getting exited about it yet.  Remember what happened the last time a trailer for a new title was shown at the Game Awards that featured no actual gameplay........

 

 

The Industry Icon award is well deserved though.  Hideo is the king of cool yet also very humble.

He even mentions that the award Kojima got, though deserving, seemed to be just so they can segue into this trailer. A trailer, that though cool and all, showed no gameplay and doesn't really tell us much about the game.

 

Anyway, was that last soldier dude at the end of the trailer the actor who was the bad guy for Skyfall?

No Man's Piece of Dogshit. Ckckck, how the mighty have fallen before it even begins. Although that game sucks because the dev behind it are a bunch of lazy morons that doesn't deliver any of their promises and think just because their game produces infinite world they think it's enough to just give the bare basic of gameplay. NO! It's not fun to pick up resources every fucking hour just to build fuel and go to another randomly generated galaxy while listening to your suit saying nonsense like "inventory full", "life support power low" and "multitool charge depleted" YOU STUPID FUCK! SHUT THE FUCK UP!

 

 

If you know Hideo Kojima, he purposefully made trailers for his games as confusing and as vague as possible because he doesn't want to spoil anything. I mean look at the trailer for MGS 2

 

No gameplay, just a bit of exposition, and no Raiden, which pisses a lot of people off when the game is about Raiden. But the game is still one of the most revolutionary thing ever when it was released because of the plethora of game features, even though the trailer shows none of it.

 

 

I have no idea what Death Stranding will be like at all, but I'm happy just looking at Daryl, Guillermo Del Toro and Hannibal in the game. The game could just be a walking simulator of Daryl naked looking at oil and trying to escape from being butt plugged by Hannibal's hentai tentacles for all I care.......... wait that actually can happen. The fanfic for this game will be quite...... interesting.

Ahh...... what now?  Metal Gear Solid 2 was far from Hideo Kojima's best effort, and his slightly dishonest marketing didn't help either.  The only plethora of anything it entered to when it released was controversy due to the marketing and mixed reviews which rubbed some fans up the wrong way.

 

Game features?  There was no new game features!  All the mechanics are the same as first but with general improvements like being able to shoot from prone and while hiding.  Even the story borrowed from the original way to much and was a convoluted mess which ended so badly it felt like you've wasted your time.  Even Metal Gear solid 4 released years later suffered for it's nonsensical crap.

 

Metal Gear Solid 3 on the other hand introduced camouflage, resource gathering, wild animals, fatigue, CQC, interrogation and a much more original story that had the most perfect ending possible.  It even managed to get some good teasers and trailers featuring exposition that are obscure, but not misleading.  Result....  a FAR superior game.

Back then in 2001, many of the features in MGS 2 was the talk of the town. The first person shooting mode, how if you shoot specific enemy limbs, they will go limp and unable to use their assault rifles and have to use pistol instead, the fact that when you alert enemies, you can shoot the radio that they will use so they can't alert the entire building, the cardboard box actually getting wetter and become useless the longer it get drenched in rain, the bottles and fruits splatter realistically when they got shot, how you can make enemy surrender when you point the gun at them from behind and then threaten them to take their dog tags, the many easter eggs the game have like these

It may seem like not that big of a deal, but back then, these things are new and revolutionary. MGS 3 is a lot better by adding the camoflauge, eating and tons of other cool stuff, but the foundation of its core gameplay starts from MGS 2. 

 

 

 

Yeah I should have mentioned MGS 3 instead of 2. Though I live through when MGS 2 was gigantic and the talk of my entire school. You probably don't get why it was big back when it was released.

There is a difference that the NMS trailer screamed "space exploration game" and has first person and a UI shown.  While the death stranding trailer didn't really say anything about the game aside from some characters and the strange world the game takes place in.  Currently, the world that Kojima is creating and the story around it is more interesting than what you can do in the game.

Don't know about the pre-rendered part, but yeah, it doesn't show any gameplay at all. I'll hold out excitement about a GAME until I see GAMEplay.
