I played all of them and my vote goes to the last of us.

Bioshock infinite was beautiful, the combat was awesome (even though some people didnt like it) and the story was so cool... plus I like how it sorta came full circle with the first game. in my opinion, anyway.

GTA5 was awesome as well. so many things to do! if I was stranded on an deserted island and could have only one game to play it would probably be this one. (I know it makes no sense)

but the last of us was like nothing I have ever played before. the story, the characters, the gameplay, graphics, everything so top notch. When I finished the game I wished I could erase my memory just to experience all of that againg for the first time. It made the other games feel silly for me (at least for a while). that's why I think this is my game of the year (and maybe, this generation's, right beside dark souls and the first bioshock).

It make sense in my opinion, GTA V have more replayability than TLOU. While TLOU is linear, GTA V is an open world. I would say GTA V is played to have fun while TLOU is more like an experience(but also fun).

TLOU is also my GOTY and in my opinion is one of the top contenders for GOTG.

The Last of Us.  No other game has ever evoked more emotions from me since I was a kid.  And the multiplayer is fairly fun, as well.

The game of the year to me is Hotline Miami, but hey, that's just me.

Out of those three, I would go with GTAV, as I've never played The Last of Us, and I didn't care for Bioshock Infinite.

I LOVE the Last of Us (really looking forward to that Ellie DLC) and Bioshock Infinite, but I would have to go with GTA V, I feel like there was more effort put into it (not that the other two didn´t have any).

this is a cool discussion, my choice would probably be bioshock infinite and the last of us is literally a centimeter away if not half a centimeter away, i mean last of us had an amazing look and the world was just enthralling, it made me tense when it needed and just break in to tears when it wanted so in terms of an emotional attachment to both the character and ellie it had me no doubt, gameplay was solid, with the choice of stealth or guns blazing but the fact there was no real fear of death in the game which didn't bother me that much because i saw the game as a really good book, which also makes sense with it being very linear but with all that said i give it to bioshock becase it also has a an amazing world that much like last of us has so much stories to tell, your emotional journey as you unlock who this elizabeth is and this world and what it has to do with you. combat is basic fps mechanics with small changes here and there but in terms of overall they where very much tied and the only difference is the endings for me and this pay be a small spoiler so SPOILER ALERT!!!!!

because the last of us ending was amazing but it left itself for what could be a sequel which means it still has a story to tell whereas bioshock ending had more impact for me because thats where it ended, like that was it, for that story all together and it was satisfying i really liked it,

so thats my choice for GOTY.

PS. dont get me wrong GTA V is amazing and GTA online was an amazing experience which i still play but the emoitonal journey i went through with these two games trumps it ever so slightly.

Out of those three. The Last of Us. But my personal game of the year is Beyond: Two Souls.

Heyyyyy, anyone hoping it's mario 3D world?  Anyone?  I'm hoping for a great game, but I do think most outlets will cite GTA 5 as the game of the year.

Through tense survival horror and a great storyline, The Last of Us, hands down.

In my opinion, the clear choice is TLOU. GTA V was a blast, but impact I felt after I finished the singleplayer of TLOU was so profound.

GTA 5

The Last of Us has a better story but I enjoy gta more and having just finished the story I'm looking forward to starting again

I think most of the games released this year were awesome. But the only one which is nothing but astonishing is Bioshock Infinite

GTA V may have more to do, TLOU has an amazing cast and a wild story to tell.
Bioshock Inf. also has a big story, but TLOU just pushes past BOTH of the others.

I have only played Bioshock from the list, but what I know about GTA V  those other two don't stand a chance. I have ps3 and didn't play the Last of us (i'm guilty). Bioshock infinite will win the plottwist of the year, and TLOU can go for the story award.

Has to be The Last of Us. Never before have I felt so invested in a narrative arc.

the last of us, is for me the best game i ever played, so intense, brutal, scary, fun, great history, great ending, too much feeling with the characters,  awesome multiplayer. is a master piece.

My vote goes to Last of Us.

The problem with Bioshock Infinite is that when you really think about it, it was a fairly basic corridor shooter. It's saving grace was a decent story and Elizabeth. GTA V is definitely a stronger contender, but I think Last of Us had a more compelling story and gameplay.  Of course, judging how "good" a story is, is as subjective as judging gameplay.

I voted for Last of us but I wouldn't be disappointed if any of those games, Bioshock was wow its the first time in ages that I had to look up what the ending meant, It was so mindblowing.

GTA V was a bitter disappointment. Good game but NOT GOTY FOR ANY GODDAMN REASON. NO. no... NOO! I have no intention to flame the topic, this is just my PERSONAL opinion (which i can easily defend).

I haven't played TLOU so i voted Bioshock. A really special game with a mind-blowing story (or mind-fuck lol)

I also think Assassin's Creed IV should be on the poll. Kudos!

I enjoyed GTA V, absolutely love the characters - with Trevor stealing the show, but they definitely dropped the ball with GTA Online. It has so much promise, and it really could have done without the grind.  I recently hit level 40, and I'm merely in there pushing to 50 for the trophy...  Hopefully, it'll improve when heists are introduced but for now, I'm enjoying being a pirate (Assassin's Creed 4.. yaaar)
