YouTube's New Monetization Policies & It's a Mess

5 posts in this topic

I don't know where else to post this but I figured why not.

Most recently, YT updated their monetization policies and a lot of people are talking about it recently. Sadly I have been affected and over 110 videos have been deemed advertiser unfriendly. I did my math and that's 1.7% of my overall video count. That's very small compared to all the other videos I have and all of them are advertiser-friendly. I don't swear. I refrain from swearing and it got me good feedback.

I don't know if it's a bug but if any other YouTuber has been affected by it, tell me.

Mods, if this feels uncomfortable feel free to lock it or move it elsewhere. I haven't been to these forums in a while.

See any reason why that might be game wise? Blocking more of the M rated ones?

Other people have been effected by it, some that should and a lot that shouldn't. Their automated system is a mess and even their system that responds to mass video flagging doesn't even work properly, even doing things like taking down the ads on some presentation/vlogs for nonsensical reasons like nudity.

Sadly there isn't a reason. YouTube didn't tell me anything whatsoever, as per usual. I'll list some of the games that have been affected.

Nioh - M rated game, obvious.

Mortal Kombat X/XL - Another M rated game, very obvious. I even disputed two of the videos a while back that were advertiser unfriendly and they were disputed and settled but now one of them I can't dispute at all and it's one of Leatherface.

Injustice 2 - T rated game involving superheroes and supervillains. No deaths happen.

Street Fighter V - One video was hit and it was the Abigail Character Story Mode. Again, a T rated game.

Mighty Gunvolt Burst - An E10 game that also has been hit as well but on one video.

Splatoon 2 - Surprisingly it's monetized yet it shows on the limited to no ads list.

Resident Evil 6 - M rated game and it was a playthrough I cancelled in 2016 due to how boring it was.

Lollipop Chainsaw - Another playthrough that I couldn't finish due to content ID. ah well and it's a T rated game.

Yeah, their system is a mess and I wish they can be out with it and allow us to dispute them without having a requirement for videos to have 1K views within a week. My videos can't reach 1K views in a week.

I've seen DOOM (2016) videos getting hit with this stupidity.

Oh yea, start making your channels on https://vid.me and https://www.bitchute.com . I know I did and getting a reasonable viewcount on the latter.
