Sega Yakuza new games announced!

1 post in this topic

So Sega just recently announced a couple of new games, all Ryu Ga Gotoku/ Yakuza related of course.

First one is Shin Ryu Ga Gotoku. Nothing much other than the fact that this game takes place after Yakuza 6, which hasn't come out yet in English but has been in Japan since last year, and that the new main character with that Spike Spiegel hair is voiced by Nishiki. Pretty cool.

Yakuza Online is also mentioned and it'll be available for PC and Smartphones. Which means yes, it's a free to play phone game. Don't expect much out of this.

But the next 2 games are fucking sweet. First one is Yakuza Kiwami 2. That's right, the remake of Yakuza 2! And this time it's using the Yakuza 6 engine, which makes everyone look great!

Hopefully this time the game will have a lot of epic QTEs like the original, cause Yakuza 6 lacks the awesome QTEs of the previous games and I want em badly!

And the last one is..... Hokuto Ga Gotoku. Yes, Fist of the Northstar is getting an adaptation mixed in with Yakuza, and Kiryu will voice Kenshiro.

We'll see how this goes. Ken's Rage made by Koei was pretty good, if quite stiff, and that game has the entire Fist of the Northstar story arc and even a "what if" scenario put in. Looks like this game will also cover the entire manga's story as well! But I wonder if they will go further into the arc where Bat and Lin turns into an adult. Meh, we'll see. Let's see if the Yakuza engine and minigames can make it differ from what Koei made!

Dayum. I can't wait for Kiwami 2, and interested in Hokuto Ga Gotoku. And since I have a Singapore PSN account, I can get these games when they come out in Asia. 2018 will be a great year! HAHAHA! Sorry US, you'll have to wait till 2019 to play these games in English.
