Is my mouse dying?

3 posts in this topic

I have a Logitech M105 mouse that I've been using for a couple of years, and it's recently run into some serious problems. (And by "recently", I mean "since last year". As for why I'm asking for help this late, I have no idea.) Basically what's going on with it is that it'll occasionally stop working momentarily - even the light at the bottom will switch off. But it always managed to fix itself a second or two later.

As of last week, however, there's a whole new level to the issue at hand. It's started turning itself off for longer periods of time, and I've sometimes had to even unplug and plug it in again, only for it to completely stop working within a minute or two.

Is this a sign that my mouse is dying? Or if not, is there a way to fix this?

I should also mention that I have the latest version of the driver software compatible with the mouse installed.

I looked up the mouse and, given thatits wired, it sounds like a damaged connection that's been getting more frayed over time and use. This sounds like replacement Tuesday im afraid.

Not surprised somehow. Honestly, I intended to replace the mouse sooner or later anyway. Gotten pretty sick of this shit.
