PS4 is more than fine for PS VR. Never ever buy a PS4 Pro if you already have a normal PS4 since it's a waste of money and the PS4 Pro is just PS4 with 4k option & differences a bit in graphics which are barely noticeable.

The PS4 Pro isn't really worth it if you already have a PS4, not even for VR.  I would recommend a PS4 Pro if you don't already have a PS4 since the Slim model is complete waste of the planets precious resources.

Yeah I would agree. Sure some games will look better in 4K but only a limited number of them have that option so far (likely costs a lot more than standard HD graphics.) Some games I even hear the standard PS4 run  with a slightly better frame rate than the Pro.

I agree that you shouldn't get it exclusively if you already have a ps4 but there is a difference between the pro and standard in loading speeds, detail etc

With everything pointing to a PS5 reveal this year and a possible release in 2020 I would definitely not recommend wasting money on a PS4 Pro at this point.

If you want to get into VR just stick with what you have for now, Although if you haven't already played a VR system I would recommended trying one out before buying it if possible since you don't want to spend all that money on something you can't use because it makes you sick.

I have a regular PS4 and I've recently bought the VR's for it, dunno what kind of differences would the pro edition provide, but I do enjoy my Regular ps4 VR experience tremendously. Don't think the pro version would make it that much better. But yeah, you should definitely try out the VR gear before buying it, some of my friends can't spend more than an hour on it without getting nausea and dizziness. At this point, the equipment is definitely not for everyone.

ps5 will be around 600€/$ on release day (2020-21).

sony releases a cheaper ps4 refresh by the end of this year for around 200€/$.

i keep my ps4 slim (2017) and wait till the ps5 slim (or) ps5 pro is  available.

btw. the ps5  support the current PS VR and future PS VR 2.0.

“I won’t go into the details of our VR strategy today, beyond saying that VR is very important to us and that the current PSVR headset is compatible with the new console,” Cerny.

I would also strongly recommend trying the VR before purchasing it.

If any of your friends has one, test it first!

I did receive a PSVR as a gift, and I couldn't play a single game with it. I tried Resident Evil Biohazard and Rush of Blood several times, but I have too much motion sickness.

Now my VR is gathering dust in a corner.

Everyone is different and I know people whom have completed several games + Platinum without a single issue.

Good luck!
