Your greatest gaming achievement?!

23 posts in this topic

Mine would have to be the moment I saved Wrex on ME for the first time! Wrex was my favorite but almost every play through he died:(! Blow through the details, saving Wrex is my greatest achievement in my gaming history. That or beating Super Mario World on SNES in 2 hours, but not as rewarding as saving Wrex since your game carries to the next ME.

One shot 5 enemy in Mass Effect multiplayer, I was using a Geth sniper rifle and it was before they removed all the guardians. I wish I had it in recording.

Probably any of the times I was playing online games and would get 20-40 kills without dying. Or a short video I did of a Mega Man 9 level where I was giving people basic tips to live after being confused about why people were having such trouble with the game, ended up getting through the level without being hit while talking and checking the recording.

All these threads where people are saying they had trouble saving characters in Mass Effect games is really confusing to me.

I once got a headshot on a Jet Pilot on BattleField 3. I wasn't even trying to do it, just goofing off.

Sometimes I understand how it was hard to save some of the characters(like Wrex or in my opinion Legion in ME2) but I guess I never made the right decisions or forgot to do something to save them. Dont know why it was so hard for me to save those two, but any of the other characters I had no problem with.

Defeating Grave Lord Nito after mustering all my courage to go through the Tomb of Giants, and then after 8 grueling minutes and having depleted all of my estus flasks, with both him and me on our last sliver of health, decided to dual wield my sword and jump slash at him, dodged his ground spike attack at the last second and killed him. Saving my entire crew in ME 2 in insane difficulty and not having a single teammate die. Beating Helm's Deep in The Third Age with only one character left. Holding the line by myself in a mutlplayer match of BF3 against an enemy team behind enemy lines.

All you do is hit the paragon or renegade option to save characters or to keep their loyalty right (when you say Legion I assume you mean saving Legion or Tali)? Just doing the main missions without many of the side quests once in Mass Effect I was still able to save Wrex. Some things really need you to have played the one before but it's really strange to struggle in the first game, unless someone is choosing a mix of paragon and renegade (which was one of the biggest problems with the first two games).

See every time I played ME I could only save Wrex once I got his family's armor back. And in ME2 the suicide mission I would always set Legion as the tech specialist for opening the doors, everytime I played he would try to close the last door faster and die:( never understood what i did wrong...

Quoting back and forth lol

Honestly, my greatest achievement has to be completeing the Vidmaster achievements in Halo 3 and ODST. I remember sinking hours upon hours trying to get those things and when I finally did; I was rewarded with the Recon armor set! I was so proud of myself

I have tons of great game experiences, but much less "achievements". I guess it's because I tend to live in the moment as I play and often I value the experience of playing itself over the feeling of achievement you get from "winning".

For example Dark Souls - I completed it multiple times on multiple characters, but the thing I remember the most is the time I spent soaking up the atmosphere, letting the game sink in and letting it entertain me with its backstory, setting, gameplay and all it had to offer. I don't really remember having any huge feeling of achievement as I finished the game. It was more of a somber "oh no, it's over" feeling, the kind I get when I finish a really good book. I'm not a completionist type of gamer.

I have that with many games, and frankly all the "achievements" I can remember are from multiplayer games, where I'm pitted against other live people in a battle of wit and skill.

To most people it probably won't seem like much, but I remember I felt really awesome the one time I got to play on Guardsman Bob's side in League of Legends.

My greatest experience would have to be in warband (Yeah I know I play too much of it) when I defeated the vaegirs in 3 days with just my companions.

Then again I had a ****load of armour and a sword that did 65 dmg with each swing.

You don't need his armor all it should be is getting your paragon or renegade up enough, which I was able to do even ignoring most side quests. Not sure what would have happened in your game to not let you save him multiple times.

In ME2 Tali or Legion is the correct choice to go into the vent, if they get killed while closing the door then you chose the wrong squad leader for your other team (Garrus or Miranda being the best choice I think and I think Zaeed also works). If you remember what characters are good at and what they have done for their backgrounds the choices make themself obvious, Garrus was the leader of a group of soldiers and Miranda was pretty much made to command
