PS3 Super slim or PS3 Slim

14 posts in this topic

Hey, which should I get, I'm asking this because I've heard that the super slim is always faulty and unreliable. I've heard good stuff about the original Slim, so I'm kind of torn between them. ( also I need the space, the original slim is quite wide )

I have the 500gb super slim.  I haven't had it for long but really the only thing that bothers me is the CD door. It seems really flimsy and doesn't take much pressure to open it. So if my cat steps on it or pushes on it the door will come open and cause the game to quit out.

I recently upgraded from an original ps3 80gb to a 500 gb super slim. I prefer it mainly because I take it up to my girlfriends house a lot and it's a hell of a lot lighter. I never liked the look of the normal ps3 slim but I quite like the look of the super slim. I'd recommend the super slim. But it's all down to personnel preference really. I've had no faults with it so far, had it for about 4 months now.

that's strange, my super slim is quite hard to open unless I press the eject button. It's possible to force it open but not exactly easy. I avoid forcing it open because I'm worried I might damage the lock on it.

well i have the super-slim its almost up to its first year and i haven't had much problems.  Most of the problems are mostly because of faulty games like poker night 2.  The problem with the ps3 slim is that the disc tray tends to get damaged or dusty because the disc slot is exposed.  I prefer the super slim because it stays shut so no dust goes in

I think it would be best to get a slim ps3. I've had my slim ps3 for about 2 years now and it's been pretty reliable. The only problem that occurs due to time is the fan slows down over time or something so the heat of the console could get concerning. It's almost neccasary to have it stand up so it's not against something that conducts heat.

Regular Slim Because it is really good. But if you want Better you'll Find the old ps3 that has 4 ports and a 80 gig hard drive that you can replace and make bigger so you can play ps2 and ps1 games.

Try getting the PS3 Slim. It doesn't have technical difficulties, and it is much better than the original PS3

Honestly, if you're that hard up for the space, I'd recommend neither.
